Everything is described in detail there. And most importantly, level up thoroughly in the first two missions.

You can try not capturing the first Elven town right away, so as not to anger these demonic creatures, but instead build up your army, explore everywhere, and practice... Maybe something will work out...

I've always captured the first town and that's it. It works. They say the AI in this mission is completely unpredictable... Maybe I was just lucky!

The mission is difficult, but not impossible. The size of the army doesn't decide everything; that's why we have brains, unlike the AI...

I'm revealing the entire map, and there are no enemy castles!!! I can see that they should be there (an empty space among the forest or rocks, with a path leading to it), but they aren't there. :confused:
A level or two earlier, I reloaded the game, thinking the save files were corrupted.
I played through everything from the beginning (from the first campaign, first mission), but it didn't help!!!

Do you have a licensed copy??? Which patch??
It seems you have that very pirated version 0.9... I've already encountered it on this forum, with the same bug... The only solution is to purchase a licensed copy. Because saves don't work for this pirated version, and you can't progress past this mission... but I can send you my save, I don't mind (send me a private message).

I'll look for a license, thanks! By the way, you came up with a very interesting method... The time wasted due to using a pirated copy is approximately 3-4 months (I rarely play on my laptop, and I practically have no free time for games :))).

What a mission, I've read so many walkthroughs...
But trying to do it my own way, I can't figure anything out...
1. I got the first town - I'm leaving it for later.
2. I tried to eliminate the Druids, then I captured the towns almost simultaneously.
And while defending in the town, I killed Gilren (there was no "magic source" checkmark left, and it's not there... I enter the Druids' territory, they attack - I kill them, I leave, they attack - I kill them, and so on).
3. I captured all the towns - Gilren is nowhere to be found.

1. For those who didn't take the phantom as a bonus, it will be difficult to deal with the phoenixes, and they must be dealt with in the 1st week
2. Do not capture the 1st town under any circumstances (otherwise your chances of victory will drop exponentially) because that's where the scripted mess begins
3. Hit the phoenixes with succubi (do not lose succubi or imps); I managed it with a ring that has an absolute zero freezing effect on the Kelvin scale
4. Capture the town in the north and level up calmly
5. Kill GILRAEN (seemingly he's the main villain there)
6. Now is when we capture the LOWER TOWN (IF you capture the right one, you're screwed8))
7. Kill any elf hero—THE QUEST to kill GILRAEN IS COMPLETED
8. Once maxed out, take down Stonehenge (the druids quest)
9. Wipe everyone out and that's it

I did the opposite; I captured the lower castle and then immediately headed north. But not through the Phoenix Guard, but through the Elementals (they don't deal as much damage and don't resurrect). I built an army, developed both castles more or less, then hired a hero who brought an army from the south to the north and went to defeat Gilren, who was guarding the castle.

I also didn't go through the Phoenix route; I went through the Elemental route. But I didn't capture the first castle. Well, I did capture it, looked at the results, and replayed that turn. I didn't know that you can't capture the third town without capturing the first. But I had to capture it because a hero emerged from there. By that time, a decent army had gathered in the northern town. The hero from that town died, but he destroyed many of Gilraen's troops. Then, I struck with my main force, and Gilraen fled. After that, I captured Gilraen's castle. The mission ended there, and Agrail didn't have time to level up properly because I didn't go to the center of the map to visit the druids

Please share the save file for this mission. I defeated everyone except the Druids. I keep killing them, but the mission doesn't end, and they keep reappearing. I don't have the energy to start over, please help! I'm using version 1.3.
