I broke through to the sea at the beginning of the 3rd week, then took back 2 Castles and fought with Archangels.

And I cleared the swamp with a second hero (for me, it was Celt) a bit later.
I think the winners used the main hero's retreat and then passed his army to him via a chain of towns for redemption. I just can't figure out how they dealt with Magnus so quickly—meaning, how that battle went.

Yeah, and I was stuck for 4 days after taking Castle on the continent where Magnus lives. I should have immediately run to the Dungeon, but I was still waiting for the Arch increase, and as a result, I couldn't upgrade 3 Angels from the reserve, but if I had gone immediately, I wouldn't have taken 4 Archs from the increase, but I would have upgraded 3 Angels from the reserve, and there would have been only 1 less Arch when diving into the Dungeon (not 17, but 16).

Dess is also a logistics expert – he runs faster, which is why I chose him as the main hero. Therefore, for me, it was more important to take Pandora with the Celt. Besides, Dess already had logistics, and I didn't want to give diplomacy to the main hero.

I, on the contrary, started by clearing out the Dragon strongholds underground – I needed the Berserk spell, Powerful Blast, and mana doubling, plus I could customize additional skills there, choosing ones that included Rust. Luckily, I had already captured their spawning grounds in the swamp. And I only attacked the Life strongholds after conquering the second Citadel and the Order stronghold in the center, underground.

Kelt was great with the boots and gloves. I gave him Pathfinding and Logistics. He also had Diplomacy; no one else had it.

As many people as there are, so many walkthrough strategies :) . But I somehow didn't think about the rusted ones from the summoning portal in the dungeon. Probably because I play as the dungeon very rarely.
By the way, I killed CD with 10 titans with support, 1+1 Archs and 1+1+1+1 gargoyles

Wow, I don't quite understand how this works. Could you describe the tactics for this battle in a bit more detail, and how many creatures were involved? I think there should have been around 600 creatures, maybe a little less. That's how it was for me, and I defeated them with 33 ranged units – without any losses, but it was a close call, and I used a lot of mana.

That makes sense, but how much mana did you spend? Approximately how many Titans does a Death Ripple hit for 10 targets at once? About 5?

I burned 504 mana and still had 215 mana left. And I was dealing 4-5 damage per turn. Also, the hero had an amulet with +3 morale and +3 luck.

After the battle, I grabbed the artifact and landed – I barely had enough movement points to jump to one of the Fortress castles to recharge with a doubling spell.
