(Tournament map for speed, date of official publication on heroesportal.net - 20.04.2012)

In 2009, I accidentally found a link to HW with a map contest on the internet. The winning map was presented at a gaming tournament of several resources. I took low places in both the map tournament and the gaming tournament on the winning map, but this remained in my memory in a special way.

Having gained some experience in offline gaming tournaments and map-making tournaments on HP in 2010-2011, I finally returned to the root cause - HW.

With gratitude to this forum, I am posting several of my new maps.

Good luck to everyone!

Completed. An interesting and dynamic map, although the blue player seemed to take a while to get going. The quests are normal and not too long. When I reached the king of the dwarves, I initially thought that I would have to simply skip turns and accumulate troops, but after thinking about it, the king of the dwarves, despite his impressive stats and army, was killed without a single loss.

Completed it. Interesting, dynamic map, although the blue player seemed to be taking a while. Decent, short quests. When I reached the Dwarf King, I initially thought I would have to just skip turns and accumulate troops, but I thought about it some more, and the Dwarf King, despite his impressive stats and army, was defeated without a single loss.

I agree, blue might be lagging, but the main goal was the following:

The map was created for a duel between Kirinyale and Tolikandro

After the duel:
Sir loom - Sir corksink kindly provided the map for the duel.
Sir Kirinyale - The hand of an offline player is evident in everything. It's not a map, it's a puzzle. I recommend posting it on the Portal; the League of Cartographers will appreciate it.
Sir corksink - The map was created specifically for this duel and with the organizer's permission (I took into account Sir Kirinyale's wish that there be several ways to win), without any hidden tricks, like Tiva.
Sir Kirinyale - Yes, I know I asked for it. But I didn't expect it to be so hardcore.
Sir Tolikandro - ...the map is small, but there is plenty of material for a master class on it... In general, the map is very interesting for its small size, and it's great that there are no Easter eggs. If you haven't played it, I recommend it, especially for those who like to run around with a horse.
Sir Kirinyale - In any case, I am convinced that Sir corksink fulfilled my "order" 100%: the available ways to complete it are completely different.
Sir loom - Special thanks to Sir corksink for the duel map!

February 27, 2012. Sir Tolikandro gave Sir corksink the Angel of Prosperity "For an exciting map!"

Nomination "Best Tournament Map" - "Dwarf King" by Sir corksink

Sir Kirinyale
As a participant in the offline duel on this map, I can confidently say that I have not encountered more suitable maps for this purpose in my modest experience. It has everything: complex and interesting battles, artifacts that affect the gameplay, quests, and several completely different ways to complete it. A certain amount of randomness, mainly due to the random artifacts in the utopias and drowned cities, despite the ban on almost everything "most-most" in the map properties, can still provide different saves from this map with a sufficient degree of difference to affect the gameplay. Will you get the pieces of the Well of Magic or the Ring of the Mage? Will it be possible to join a group of monsters at the very beginning of the game, which are so necessary for implementing a cunning plan? Will you come up with a beautiful solution for the final battle with the legions of pegasi and dendroids, or maybe you will be able to overwhelm them with brute force?

Despite its apparent simplicity, this map turns out to be a real set of hardcore puzzles for an experienced offline player. Perhaps the only drawback is the excessive number of whirlpools, which take up too much time and nerves to generate the correct jumps (even compared to all the other difficulties). And, of course, not every player will have enough time and moral strength for a decent playthrough. The dwarf kingdoms will not fall at the first attempt - I guarantee it.
