Maps should be large, fun (with jokes), and definitely have a plot. I hate maps without a plot.
Added 9 minutes later No, I didn't change my mind; maps without a plot are okay.
...But it's boring!... ...There's no goal, nothing to fight for...
Timur, (Ha-ha, I know who you are, by the way, I recommended the forum, but you didn't remember me) a plot is something that exists today but might not tomorrow, but the beauty of a map is forever! P.S. I don't

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war...
Well, that's the end of the saga! I've added a plotline and fixed a few things (the map size remains the same)! Now the fight is on for the Holy Grail! It's been tested, and there are no bugs!
On the contrary. On a large map, you have time to develop. But on a small one, you're bending over backwards just so the enemy doesn't wipe you out in the very first week. Speed, tactics, and skill, it seems to me, are tested specifically on small maps. :smile29: Personally, I love the size "L" most of all, as large ones can often be tedious. For example, you already know that you've won, but you spend weeks running around wiping out losers :smile21: (pitiful remnants who were unlucky enough to remain by the end of the game). This, of course, does not apply to brilliant custom maps. And also, you are all talking about the super-difficult map First Blood; I feel like I've missed out a lot by not knowing about it. Someone please help, drop a link!
Hello to all true fans of this great game! I'm new here, so please don't judge my first creation too harshly. I did everything myself without using any random editor! I dedicated this map to my girlfriend.
Size: 144x144 XL Description: The undead hordes have attacked our settlements! They are killing women and children, turning them into skeletons! King Sandro is to blame for this! He must die and lose his castle! Kill him! Avenge Chaos!
And you all keep talking about the super-difficult map First Blood, and I feel like I missed out on something by not knowing about it. Can anyone help me? Please share a link!
Super difficult?? Interesting! Please share a link! Two people are already asking! I really want to play it)):p
I don't know if there are later versions of the map First Blood (ver. 2.4), but I suggest you try playing this version first, and then we can share our impressions.
Download it from the link in post #98 and compare (version 2.4 might be a bit more challenging:D :D :D)
I played it for a bit (didn't last more than 3 months), and in my opinion, it's a little easier to gather units, but then the Necromancers almost completely wipe you out. A Necromancer with 150 Vampire Lords attacked me around 2.5 months in, and their attack and defense stats were worse than mine by 3-4 points, but they defeated me like I was a child. In short, 75 upgraded Cyclops with the "Accuracy" spell only managed to defeat 23 Lords with a direct (full) shot.

I created a map for WOG (World of Xeen) based on "The Lord of the Rings". I'll say right away that the map doesn't have any scripts and is probably unbalanced (I tried to take into account many nuances from the book, and maybe the balance suffered). Please don't criticize it too harshly! :D
