In the 4th difficulty, you need to win against all the computer opponents. I'm playing as Haven.

Well, you'll have to hurry. The computer-controlled factions will be rushing towards you. The main thing is not to stay on the defensive. The humans have quite strong mid-level units – pikemen, swordsmen. Make them your main force. Plus, try using a Warlock as a suicide unit against the computer-controlled factions (if you have Armageddon or something similar in your city).

Why won't either Heroes 1 or Heroes 2 launch on my computer? Do they work on XP? Please help! :smile15:

Yeah, they should be running. But if not, try launching them in compatibility mode for Windows 95.

I have the version from Buka on the gold collection... and everything works without problems.
Describe in more detail what happens when you launch the game... what version of Heroes are you using, and what version of XP do you have, SP2?

Windows XP sp2, Heroes 1 version 1.97. When you launch the first game, a DOS window appears, but then it disappears, and nothing happens. When you launch the second game, a black screen appears, and it kicks you back to the desktop. I tried setting compatibility to Windows 95, but it still does the same thing! :eek:

Yes, there's definitely a problem with Windows (I'm having the same issue).
I've already downloaded the program:
-DOSBox0.65-win32-installer.exe- (it also includes a bunch of utilities, but I haven't looked into them yet).

But I didn't have enough "SPELL POWER & Knowledge" for the tinkering (or rather, enough time and patience):o. So, I went to the "book market" today and bought an anthology of HEROES:smile06:.

By the way, this anthology includes all five parts of HEROES – the complete collection:smile07: *HEROES 1* *HEROES 2 + The Price of Loyalty* *HEROES 3 (3-in-1 complete collection)* *HEROES 4 (3-in-1 complete collection)* *HEROES 5 + Hammers of Fate* It seems like everything is in Russian and from Bukovskiy.;) On a dual-layer DVD – 6.8 Gb:smile42: There are photos.

I can say again that this is a pirated copy. And even if there is a Buka logo on the box, don't be fooled, it's a fake. But the game seems to run normally. However, you can't install patches for version 5, and you can't play it online.
