Posts from Problems and bugs in Tournament themes.
But the tabs for writing a report, statistics, and rules can be attached to each tournament by default.

The main thing for me is that there is an option, I'm in favor of any variant :smile20:
If necessary, the button could be made larger, I think :D

The downside is that the Report button is placed in such a way that if you don't know it exists, you'll never guess.
The only downside is that on Battle.net, you have to manually type in the opponent's nickname. This is unacceptable for an automated system, as many people can't write the opponent's nickname without errors. We need to add the ability to select from a search of registered users.
The only downside is that on Battle.net, you have to manually type in the opponent's nickname. This is unacceptable for an automated system, as many people cannot spell the opponent's nickname correctly. There should be an option to choose from a list of registered users.
On Battle.net, there is a choice from a list. But because the list contains all registered users, including bots, and the selection is not automated (e.g., auto-completion based on the first few letters), it is inconvenient to use this selection, and it is easier to manually enter the nickname.
Besides, as far as I know, Battle.net has never had an automatic ranking system. The form is used exclusively to help with submitting reports.
For an automatic ranking system, in addition to the report form, at least another form for confirmations is needed.
Ideally, the system should, in my opinion, look like this:
- Reports with details are written in the tournament threads and in the thread for reports on regular games. The form should be similar to the Battle.net form, but better designed and with auto-suggestions when entering nicknames and templates.
- A button to call up the confirmation form, located in the post with the report. Or at least, when posting in the tournament thread, there should be a button to display a list of unconfirmed reports for that tournament.
- In the ranking thread, there should be statistics on reports, as it is now, but filled in automatically. Here, there should also be a list of all unconfirmed reports with the possibility of calling up the confirmation form and automatically redirecting to the corresponding tournament thread.
That is, the idea is to keep the familiar system for entering results, but the processing should be done automatically.
The topic of ranking systems is a separate one, but it is clear that there should be a way to easily change the formulas for calculating the ranking.

Yes, it is impossible to find anyone there. Thousands of users.
For convenience, it would be good to introduce a search by alphabet.

The forum should be used to announce Tournaments, review applications, and resolve any issues. The actual statistics should be kept on the website, but separately from the forum. There, participants will naturally fill out reports in a standardized format, attach save files, screenshots, etc., and the ranking will also be there. This will make things easier for those who manage the reports and those who read them. In addition, there is an opportunity to develop and improve the system. An archive of Tournaments by date, current Tournaments, and just games. All names and in-game titles should be selected from a list. A simple and clear interface. It should be convenient.
I don't see any advantage in such a separation. It's much more convenient to write a report with the results in the Tournament thread as usual, and the results are automatically transferred to the statistics and ranking thread - without the reports, only the result itself.
And how the results are sorted in the statistics is a different question.
It is clear that it would be desirable to have the option to view statistics separately for each Tournament. It would also be useful to have links from the statistics thread to the corresponding posts with the reports.
It seems that the most convenient thing would be to add two more buttons to each of these three places - "Write Report" and "Confirm Report".
It would be better if the confirmation button appeared only for users with unconfirmed reports. And a message about the presence of unconfirmed reports upon login would also be helpful.
I don't see any benefit in such a division.
If you need both discussions and reports together, you could probably do something similar to the portal, but add a duplication of the report text from the "Reports" tab to the "Discussion" tab.
It's much harder to find a report for a specific game on the forum. If everything is organized, there will be no problems!
That's what I wrote about above, regarding links to posts with reports. Or just a separate tab with the report.
It's also easier to work with and develop a separate block.
The core of the system with statistics and ratings will already be in a separate block. What prevents further development? In the tournament topics, there are only data input forms.
Even if initially it's just a list of recorded games without any sorting and a rating table, it's already a big step forward.
When the "write report" key is pressed, a choice appears: tournament report or fun game report.
Then, a form pops up. Similar to the current report header template:
01.06.2010 vbn (red, Dungeon, Shakti, Shakti) def invisible (blue, Inferno, Pyrrh, Marius) 2SM4d(3) 136.
It should be structured as follows:
01.06.10 - a free field for entering the date in the appropriate format
vbn - a field for entering the nickname with alphabetical support
(red - a drop-down list for selecting colors
Dungeon - a drop-down list for selecting castles
Shakti - a drop-down list for selecting all starting heroes from the selected faction of the starting castle
Shakti - a drop-down list of all possible heroes in alphabetical order or an empty field for entering the main hero's name)
def - a drop-down list with 3 options: win - lose - draw
invisible - a field for entering the opponent's nickname with alphabetical support
blue - a drop-down list for selecting colors
Inferno - a drop-down list for selecting castles
Pyrrh - a drop-down list for selecting all starting heroes from the selected faction of the starting castle
Marius - a drop-down list of all possible heroes in alphabetical order or an empty field for entering the main hero's name)
2SM4d(3) - a drop-down list of all possible templates or an empty field for entering the template name manually
136 - an empty field for entering the end of the game day.
Tournament reports should be valued more, not equated to seasonal ones, thereby we will increase the value of games in tournaments and the difficulty of winning a season by defeating average players and newbies.
When the "write report" key is pressed, a drop-down list appears with the choice of /<fun game>.
- then, when "tournament" is selected, a drop-down list of current tournaments (their names) appears.
When the "confirm" key is pressed, a drop-down list appears with all unconfirmed games where the confirmer's nickname is mentioned (there may be several unconfirmed games if there are several losses from the same player), but the games are submitted on the forum in the third-level branch.
It would also be nice to have a separate key that everyone could use to see unconfirmed games where the nickname of the person who logged into the forum is mentioned. For example, Pete, you search with a program for who has not confirmed what, but if everyone can see it, there will be fewer of them or none at all.
Adding a player's rating indicator on the forum under the avatar is also highly desirable (this would again require a separate module).
...
That makes sense.
Tournament reports should be valued more, not equated with seasonal ones, thereby we will also increase the value of games in tournaments
You speak the truth! That's logical! I agree wholeheartedly.
