The only downside is that on Battle.net, you have to manually type in the opponent's nickname. This is unacceptable for an automated system, as many people cannot spell the opponent's nickname correctly. There should be an option to choose from a list of registered users.

On Battle.net, there is a choice from a list. But because the list contains all registered users, including bots, and the selection is not automated (e.g., auto-completion based on the first few letters), it is inconvenient to use this selection, and it is easier to manually enter the nickname.

Besides, as far as I know, Battle.net has never had an automatic ranking system. The form is used exclusively to help with submitting reports.
For an automatic ranking system, in addition to the report form, at least another form for confirmations is needed.

Ideally, the system should, in my opinion, look like this:

- Reports with details are written in the tournament threads and in the thread for reports on regular games. The form should be similar to the Battle.net form, but better designed and with auto-suggestions when entering nicknames and templates.

- A button to call up the confirmation form, located in the post with the report. Or at least, when posting in the tournament thread, there should be a button to display a list of unconfirmed reports for that tournament.

- In the ranking thread, there should be statistics on reports, as it is now, but filled in automatically. Here, there should also be a list of all unconfirmed reports with the possibility of calling up the confirmation form and automatically redirecting to the corresponding tournament thread.

That is, the idea is to keep the familiar system for entering results, but the processing should be done automatically.

The topic of ranking systems is a separate one, but it is clear that there should be a way to easily change the formulas for calculating the ranking.
