I've had this problem since the beta. But back then, I thought the beta was just trying to get me to buy the full game... I bought the licensed version today. I launch the game, and everything seems normal. The introductory cutscenes with Antoshka play. Then, in the main menu, black stripes appear and flicker across the screen. It's like thin stripes are falling out of the image, like shards of glass. I thought, "Okay, it happens..." I start a campaign, and that's when things really start to go wrong. At first, I even saw the Orcish creature, that bad guy, and then the screen started flickering, and then the image turned into a flickering display of dancing, multicolored ribbons on a black background. And yet, I could clearly see the dialogue panels; they were sharp. So, I clicked the "Next" button. Again, the map flickers, but the panels remain sharp. I tried to adjust the video settings. Nothing changes. In short, this has been happening since patch 1.4 of the beta and continues in the full game. Before that, everything displayed perfectly, with only a slight slowdown. What could this be? Could it be the video card? Or something else? I installed the game on my laptop. Tomorrow, I'll try it on my desktop, but will I have to give up playing Heroes on my laptop?:smile50:

Try installing the latest drivers for your video card, and DirectX (although it should have been installed with the game). So, try updating the drivers; if that doesn't help, your card may not be supported by the game.

I've been playing for a week, and haven't touched any software (neither the game nor the drivers).
The artifacts described above appeared.
Reinstalling the game (all different versions) and the drivers doesn't fix the problem.

I have the exact same video card on my laptop, and everything works fine, so the problem is with the software.

Okay, then I'll write down what kind of laptop I have: ASUS K50AB, AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-74, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570. If I looked it up, of course... I'm a newbie when it comes to computers.

The system requirements state that mobile versions of video cards can work, but they are not supported! So, for now, I can only express my sympathy to you :(

I find myself charmed by Heroes. As mentioned above, my laptop failed. My regular computer couldn't handle the video card requirements, but it's quite old... However, I can play Heroes perfectly on a small Acer 522 netbook, which I carry to university just for taking notes. :eek: Now I'll be playing Heroes during lectures!))) Netbook specs: Processor - AMD Fusion Dual-Core C-50 (1000 MHz; Ontario), Video card - AMD Radeon HD 6250, 256+117 MB (integrated), OS - Windows 7 Starter.

What factors affect the game's performance on laptops, because on my Mobility Radeon 5650, everything works fine, but for the user above, it doesn't work :(

By the way, after patch 1.1.1, the game also runs fine on my laptop :).

I've already tried almost everything I can! The game is patched, the drivers, DirectX, and the video drivers are the latest (I have a Radeon HD 6700), I've reinstalled the game several times, tried different settings, and it's still the same!

Yesterday, I launched the game, loaded a map, and the entire screen started flickering. And now, no matter which mission I start, the screen flickers everywhere. Where could this be coming from? I had the same problem, I downloaded it from different sites. In general, the problem is that I have two video cards, and for some reason, the screen flickers with the GeForce 610m. I launched it with the discrete Intel graphics, and everything is fine.
P.S. Right-click -> Run with graphics processor -> Integrated graphics.
