But they really tried their best in Shivering Isles. Although the ending there is sad, it is perhaps one of the saddest CRPG endings.

I wanted to create a hero for myself, “the one I had four years ago during my first Walkthrough.” I didn’t remember the name of the old character, so I entered the name of the first snake that came to mind. In general, I don't like having heroes in the game because they introduce a strong imbalance. In campaign mode, you can defeat an entire base with just this one hero, as well as kill an enemy Titan.

Recently, I Downloaded EVE Online. It is very different from other MMOs and also has one of the best character customization options, in my opinion.
Yesterday, I created a female character:

I would play it, but I am afraid that I will start getting into the details closer to the end of the trial period, and then there is no point in paying for a permanent subscription because I won't have enough time anymore.

In EVE, it's not just about paying for a subscription; there's also a significant amount of in-game spending. And it consumes 27 hours a day. As for the character customization, yes, it's the best, and even though the game was released in 2003, it still hasn't been surpassed.

And in WBC, the heroes are overpowered, I agree.

I've only played Perfect World, and that was back when the prices for gold were reasonable; now it's just impossible to play. I preferred playing as a Druid (the most popular class), as I can't imagine playing without pets. I'll post screenshots later, I think.

A Druid without Phoenix is not a very good Druid, and this is where gold has an impact...

Playing without a Phoenix isn't very enjoyable, especially in PvP. Buying Gold with Yuan earned from farming mobs is a long and tedious process.
But yes, it's true that now you have to put in too much effort to earn money.

Sometimes I can’t resist and defeat some players, usually after the fifth or sixth attempt. (And even then, I have to thank my four pets, which die periodically). Well, PvE wasn’t a bad game; I really enjoyed dungeon runs… But the quests weren’t very engaging. Gold used to cost 150k, but now it costs almost 1 million, and even bots can’t save you. (There are so many bots in PvE that there’s nowhere to fit your own characters). I leveled up my fox to level 70, which took about two years. She’s wearing green gear and looks like a beggar.

I finally found my old screenshots from PW (some are older than others). In the first and third screenshots, it's Kiranda; the first one is from around 2009, and the reworked one is from 2010-11. The second screenshot shows a random character, around level 40. And at the end of the series, it's my attempt to cosplay Re-L (those who watched Ergo Proxy will understand). I have her as my avatar. Of course, I got some criticism on the fox beauty forum for this cosplay, but now I know where my skills come from, XD.

Thank you! It's quite difficult to achieve similarity because the concept of an "icon" and a "character" are almost like day and night. But still, the icon is more important to me; who will be looking closely at my character anyway?
