A brief introduction. I wrote the setting a few months ago, but never actually started the game because it felt like it could be made much better; however, no one is running games now, and of all five settings I've prepared, this is the only playable one at the moment. Oh, and this is the only one lacking role images (finding good images for a setting taking place in the modern world is much harder, strangely enough).
Clan names are taken from family names, but they have no relation to real ones.
If you find any inaccuracies or balance issues, please write to me before the game starts.

Yakuza Clan War
The struggle for power and the long-standing confrontation between the Yamaguchi-gumi and Inagawa-kai clans have reached their peak, and their leaders have openly declared war on each other in Shinjuku, where it will soon be decided which clan expands its influence and which faces oblivion. Meanwhile, an assassin who secretly entered the country awaits orders, anticipating interesting work and large sums of money, while a private detective hired by the parents of a missing girl actively conducts his search, leaving no stone unturned. Law enforcement officers will not sit idly by either, as not only the Yakuza but also innocent residents could suffer.
Rules.
1. Nights last about 24 hours. The sooner all night actions (NA) reach the GM, the faster dawn will come. At night, players send NAs according to their role (if you decide not to use an NA – notify the GM).
The GM must confirm receipt of the NAs. The sooner the GM receives all NAs, the earlier day will begin. Night limit is 24 hours; after that, NAs are not accepted.
At night, no one has the right to write anything in the game thread, even via "deleted posts".
2. Day lasts exactly 24 hours. In some cases, an earlier or later end of the day is possible.
3. During the game, it is forbidden to change your nickname, avatar, signature, and personal information. If it is vital for you to change information, discuss the changes with the GM beforehand. If you were killed but wish to edit your profile, you must take a screenshot of your profile before the change and leave it in the thread.
4. Execution requires only a majority of votes. The vote must be formatted in bold as "Execute " (creativity is allowed – within reason), otherwise the vote will not be counted. If you want to cancel your vote, write "Do not execute ", also in bold. If a player reaches the required number of votes, they will be hanged only after the end of the day and only if the votes do not change.
All "double votes" and "altered votes of recruits" are not displayed.
Players creating vote lists is encouraged.
5. Clues about killers in reports are based on the user's profile (nick, avatar, signature, etc.). If a kill was unsuccessful, the killer will know, but won't know why it failed. No clues are given for unsuccessful kills, except those declared by the killer themselves. Reports also contain a hint about the victim's role. The killer may plant 1 additional clue at the crime scene. It must point to them and be original. Regarding the complexity of these clues, there is quite a bit of freedom, but the GM reserves the right not to accept a specific clue, with or without explanation.
6. Discussing the game outside this thread (i.e., in PMs, ICQ, etc.) is allowed only if your role permits it.
In groups, decisions are made collectively; the final word remains with the group leader. If any member of the group is offline, the group leader may make a decision without them.
7. Do not edit your messages. Try to write without errors from the start.
8. Eliminated players and those not participating in the game are forbidden from writing in the game thread, discussing the game with participants, or posting information about their own/others' roles. All comments – after the end of the game, or in the "General discussions" thread.
9. It is forbidden to reveal your own / others' role, or its elements, as well as information obtained through them, in public places or among players not in your group. The same applies to information about other players. Phrases like "well, I also know something about him that I can't say" are a violation, regardless of whether you actually know something or are lying. Statements such as "I checked," "according to my information, which I cannot disclose," "I know for sure" - etc. are forbidden. Unargued shouts like "he is MAFIA!" or "I am Town!" are allowed; however, one must not hint at the details of their role in any form.
To avoid violating this rule, try to frame your thoughts as assumptions or as your own opinion based, for example, on clues or behavior. It is permitted to refer to rules, the GM, your own posts, other players' posts, or any external sources where you dug up info via clues.
10. Modkill (in rare cases - replacement) is performed:
- In case of a gross violation of the rules or a repeated minor violation.
- If for two consecutive days, nights, or one day and night, a player shows no activity without notifying the GM about possible offline status.
- May be performed at the player's request due to circumstances that prevent them from taking active part in the game.
11. First-night immunity (impossibility of killing a person possessing it on the first night of the game) is given to the following participants:
- those killed on the first night in the previous game;
- the moderator of the previous game;
- newcomers (players playing "Mafia" on our forum for the first time);
- players who missed three or more previous games.
12. Announcements can be submitted to the newspaper (mention the announcement text in your NA). Announcements can be submitted in any volume, and may contain any information, including false or out-of-game info. Any signature is allowed (whichever you specify). There are no limits on the total number per game. No more than two notes from one player per day. The only restriction for investigators is that they are forbidden to write who they are visiting the next night (not applicable to this game, as such a thing is technically impossible).
Role List.
Yamaguchi-gumi Clan
Victory conditions: no Town and no competing clan remain. If only the Oyabun remains in the team, he becomes a regular Town resident.
Yamaguchi-gumi Oyabun - head of the most influential Yakuza clan; adheres to methods of intimidation and blackmail, keeping the number of kills by his group members to a minimum.
NA: Recruiting - recruits new members (if he hits a regular resident, they become a regular Yakuza with the ability to kill). He does not participate himself, so he does not visit the target.
Specialty: double vote; can place an order for an assassin (not counted as NA, therefore cannot be blocked). If he dies, the next person on the team list places orders.
Affiliation: Yakuza
Thug - a tough guy trained in the art of smashing everything and terrorizing those around him.
NA: Protection Racket - if he visits a cafe owner or waiter (specifically their owner), he gains the ability to control their votes. If NA is used on a policeman, he loses the ability to use it the next night.
NA2: Blocks the chosen player.
NA3: Kill.
Affiliation: Yakuza

Inagawa-kai Clan
Victory conditions: no Town and no competing clan remain. If only the Oyabun remains in the team, he becomes a regular Town resident.
Inagawa-kai Oyabun - younger and less clever, the head of the Inagawa-kai clan is the complete opposite of his main competitor; being a radical person with an explosive temper, he resorts to killings and riots more often than any other means.
NA: Recruiting - recruits new members (if he hits a regular resident, they become a regular Yakuza with the ability to kill). He does not participate himself, so he does not visit the target.
Specialty: can place an order for an assassin (not counted as NA, therefore cannot be blocked). If he dies, the next person on the team list places orders.

Nurse - guardian angel for the shot and beaten, stabbed and run over by cars; responds to calls providing first aid followed by transport to the hospital.
NA: First Aid - resurrects a killed player.
Affiliation: town
Waiter - employee of an expensive Chinese restaurant, who often overhears interesting information about residents in the city.
Specialty: Rumors - learns the affiliation of a random player.
Affiliation: Town
Small Cafe Owner - a kind old man who will shelter both an ordinary person and a criminal.
Specialty: A player visiting him "hides" in his cafe, thereby gaining protection from killing for that night (exceptions: thug, policeman, and those who came to kill him).
Affiliation: town
Private Detective - a sleuth with a keen sense of justice, searching the city for a missing girl while simultaneously helping the city's residents.
NA: Search - if his target is attempted to be killed - prevents the kill and has a 50% chance to kill the attacker; if he hits the girl - they form a link, but in that case, he loses his NA.
Affiliation: town
Missing Girl - a little girl lost in a big, unfamiliar city, who accidentally witnessed Yakuza clashes. Desperately wanders the city searching for her parents.

Affiliation: town
Ordinary Resident x2
Specialty: can be recruited
Affiliation: town
Assassin - a person who arrived at the scene of the criminal confrontation to offer services and make some money.
NA: "Contract Kill" - bosses of both clans as well as the policeman have the ability to send orders to the assassin via the GM (names are not revealed), and he can choose whose order to fulfill. He must make a choice, however, if there are fewer than two orders, he has the right to act freely.
Specialty: since he uses a sniper rifle, he is not directly present at the crime scene, therefore cannot be killed by the policeman, private detective, bodyguard, or kamikaze (unless he is their target).
