We don't have any internet problems; I don't think it's anything special that would cause it to lag or disconnect...
We just played a one-on-one game, and it kept freezing or disconnecting, but we somehow managed to finish it... What a nightmare!

True, we didn't upgrade or patch the game! And we installed it from discs; it looks like that's the only option left to try...

One good person suggested cleaning the registry when the game crashed almost every turn. Either it really helped, or it was just a coincidence, but it's worth a try.

Basically, that's it. I checked as best as I could, and these issues (crashes and lag) are incurable. Even a licensed copy of SoD didn't help, and neither did the patches or any other methods. So, the question remains: what are your system specifications? Maybe everyone is using Windows 98 with 32MB of memory and DirectX 3? And the method of integrating the Conflux and map generator into SoD using zero files actually makes me happy – it works for me, by the way. Added after 5 minutes: Yes, and I've confirmed many times that Windows 7 doesn't like classic games (for example, Diablo 2 LOD also crashed and froze), so I support your theory, because I've come to the same conclusion, but I'm still thinking about it. There's some truth to that. One of us had Windows 7, and we couldn't play a 2v2 match.

Maybe this question has been asked before, but I recently decided to play through the SoD campaigns. I finished as Kreg, Gem, and Gelu (just in case). The campaign for Sandro didn't unlock... Does anyone know why that might be?

We recently tried playing with Scorpion through GameRanger and encountered a problem. When it's my turn (I'm the host), the data loading bar fills up very slowly, sometimes freezing at certain values. Sometimes it loads, and sometimes the connection is interrupted. When I pass my turn, everything is fine. We tried switching hosts – now Scorpion was the host, but when I joined, nothing happened on my screen, while the opponent reported that the start button had been pressed and it was stuck at 99%. We tried using Hamachi; the pings were good (~100ms with no packet loss), but the opponent couldn't join my game (there was an error related to the connection). I tested the connection through GameRanger and Hamachi with another player, shpilenger, and everything was fine; turns were passed almost instantly. However, when he was the host, the same thing happened – when I started receiving data, a connection error occurred, and I was disconnected. Technical information: Me: My computer is connected to the router (Port-Restricted Cone NAT Router) on the attic via a local network (DHCP addressing), and the router is connected to the provider via fiber optics. Hello everyone! My friend has Windows XP, and I have Windows 7. We were playing over a local network using Hamachi, and it seemed to work, although I had to put in some effort to configure the network. But now we have a problem: the game crashes very often on Windows 7, making it impossible to play over the network. So, by chance, I found an HD mod and installed it on both computers, and now the local network connection no longer works... in other words, we can't see each other anymore. Can you suggest what to do?
P.S. I don't know if the crashing problem has been fixed in the HD version; I haven't had time to test it yet. :smile15:
