No, I haven't even played any purely naval strategy games. I haven't really played many strategy games in general. If I try to remember, a large part of my life was spent on Lord of the Rings (Battle for Middle-earth). There weren't many seas there either. I think it only appeared in some add-on or the second part. But it was good there, and I didn't always use the water, although sometimes I did. In Heroes, I don't really like it when the map offers a journey across the water. I also played Empire Earth II a long time ago. There, on the contrary, I would set a random island map, make alliances with all the AI players (of course, I would set them all to the maximum), build a fleet, go to someone's island, build nuclear missiles and bombers, and then declare war on that player. I also played Cossacks, but I couldn't get into it; it's not a game for my brain. There's too much going on. Every tenth of a second, every person in the army eats food, and every tenth of a second, that food is gathered. I love a well-developed naval component in global strategy games or RTS games. In Age of Empires, I would set up an archipelago and actively focus on controlling the sea, bombarding the coastline with triremes, and landing troops. Red Alert 3 partially delivered on this with its further development of the naval theme; they did very well to not miss out on such interesting aspects from the second game. In Total War: Medieval, the essence of playing as the Vikings lies in controlling the sea and carrying out targeted, effective raids on the shores of Albion until you weaken them enough to transport an army there and establish a firm foothold. In Giants, I enjoyed playing the RTS mode as a sorceress, building shipyards, and attacking from the water. In Heroes, I love water maps, and in the third game, there was one XL map with a thousand islands (or was it called something else?), consisting of an incalculable number of small landmasses. I enjoy conquering the seas, but they are not present in many games, and they are not as well-developed as I would like.
