The following technical specification was sent to the developers:
Technical Specification for WT improvements:
Fix bugs:1) Negative troop experience when resetting a starting hero that is not level 1
2) The anti-hit-and-run script currently works in battles with neutrals and computers. It should remain active only for battles against opponents, be enabled by default, and have the corresponding checkbox removed.
3) Bug with empty prisons and Mülliсh — replace with another hero.
New interface features:1) A warning message when attempting to scout from a location if the hero has troops in a reserve stack.
2) An option on the adventure map to "calculate the ransom cost" (including the reserve stack).
Several options — with artifacts and diplomacy considered, with only diplomacy considered, with only artifacts considered, without considering anything.
3) An option in combat to "show the amount of gold in the treasury".
4) Disable the effect of Shackles of War in battles with monsters.
5) Add the following templates to the list: Diamond, h3dm1, h3dm2, h2sm3, hjeb4.
Balance changes:1. Remove the 25% health bonus for monster specialists.
2. Remove classes as a feature.
Remove the Warrior, Sage, Governor, Explorer, and Healer classes entirely; transfer the functionality of the remaining ones to individual skills:
2.1) Speedy -> Navigation. The upper limit is considered to be 2000 movement points. That is, at Expert level, the hero moves with 2000 base movement points regardless of army composition.
2.2) Terraformer -> Pathfinding. At Basic level — sand, at Advanced level — sand and native terrain, at Expert level — any terrain. Cost: 1000 gold and 200 movement points. Does not change adjacent tiles.
2.3) Leprechaun -> Luck. Same functionality.
2.4) Marauder -> Leadership. Provides gold equal to 10/20/30% of the experience gained in battle. The Learning bonus is not counted.
2.5) Merchant -> Estates. Mana purchase — 15/30/30% of the maximum (not exceeding it) at a rate of 20 gold per 1 mana point; movement point purchase — 200/400/400 points at a rate of 2 gold per 1 movement point; experience purchase — 10/20/20% of current experience at a rate of 2 gold per experience point.
At Basic and Advanced levels — 1 trading operation per turn; at Expert level — 2 operations (different ones).
2.6) Artificer -> Eagle Eye. For Treasure artifacts, requires level 4 and Basic Eagle Eye; for Minor artifacts, level 7 and Advanced Eagle Eye; for Major artifacts, level 10 and Expert Eagle Eye.
Ensure that the functionality starts working immediately, without requiring a hero refresh as with classes.
3. Additional skill functionality:
3.1) Diplomacy.
At Advanced level, allows ransoming from monsters. At Expert level, allows ransoming "from the location". The reserve stack in both these cases must be preserved and paid for. The ransom cost in both cases should not be affected by the presence of diplomacy artifacts — they are only for ransoming from opponents and computers.
Additionally, Diplomacy reduces the cost of Merchant, Terraformer (gold only), and Artificer trade operations by 20/33/50% and increases the maximum purchase volume of the Merchant by 25/50/100%. The upper mana limit should not be exceeded.
3.2) Scholar. At Expert level, allows either erasing itself or replacing itself with any basic magic skill of the player's choice — Wisdom, Sorcery, Intelligence, Mysticism, or the 4 schools of magic.
Remove the checkbox for classes; instead, add a checkbox "New Skills", which includes all of the above (from point 2.1 to 3.2).
3.3) Ballistics. Increases the direct shot range of all ranged units by 2/4/unlimited; at Expert level, ignores castle walls (like a Catapult).
3.4) First Aid. At Expert level, allows purchasing a tent.
These 2 skills are not included in the "New Skills" checkbox and are always enabled.
4. Give logistics specialists their Shadow of Death specialization, but with 2.5% per level.
5. Include the Inferno patch script in the standard distribution; remove the checkbox. Accordingly, adjust the script for resetting non-level 1 heroes.
Include the scripts for new Griffin Conservatories and the symmetrizer in the standard distribution with the appropriate checkbox.
6. In the Tavern, change the building tree — make Mages a dead-end branch; after Golems, allow building Genies or Naga immediately; after Naga, build Titans.
Reduce the construction and upgrade costs of the Giant dwelling from 7500/22500 to 5000/20000. Reduce the upgrade cost of the Naga dwelling from 3000 to 2000.
7. Make the starting armies of Ufretin, Straker, Edric, and Korbac the same as those of regular heroes from their respective towns.
8. Remove scrolls from zaobjts.txt; remove the script for replacing them, and remove the corresponding checkbox as well.
9. Increase the number of starting Troglodytes for Shakhtyor from 15-25 to 20-25. For other heroes, increase the number of starting Harpies from 4-6 to 6-8, and Eyes from 3-4 to 4-5.
Give Lore starting skills: Scouting + Tactics. Give Adgit Offense + Archery. Accordingly, adjust the script for resetting non-level 1 heroes.
10. Always allow building the second level of troops; remove the checkbox for it.
