Posts from HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.Auto-translated
R55Max, since you're reinstalling your OS, surely tweaking the video driver settings isn't that much of a problem? Here's what it looks like on my machines:
On the other hand, if I set any resolution higher than 1024*768, the monitor resolution still remained at 1024*768 physical pixels.
Launching the HD version of the game in 1024x768 resolution is possible only when the resolution is set to 1024x768 in the HD mode. Check what resolution is recorded in HiRezData\HiRez.ini and, if necessary, change it to the desired one in this file.
The Heroes3HDSetup.exe utility, after clicking Apply and Launch or Ok, saves the set resolution in HiRez.ini. I suspect that, for some reason, HiRez.ini is set to read-only or is being used by another process, and the utility doesn't say anything and doesn't change the ini file. My fault. I'll fix it in the next version. But I absolutely won't believe that it selectively records 1024x767 but not 1025x768.
The Heroes3HDSetup.exe utility, after clicking "Apply and Launch" or "Ok," writes the selected resolution to the HiRez.ini file. I suspect that, for some reason, the HiRez.ini file is marked as read-only or is being used by another process. In this case, the utility won't provide any feedback or modify the .ini file. My mistake. I will fix this in the next version. However, I absolutely don't believe that it selectively records 1024x767 but not 1025x768.
In general, the visual examples helped, and we managed to solve the problem:), especially since we have the same software on our laptops. I also needed to sort out the drivers. Excellent mod ;)
I'll say it again: we put the files from *Breath of Death* on top of *Armageddon's Blade*, and we can play the missions and campaigns from *Armageddon's Blade* in HD. Plus, we can play the missions and campaigns from *Breath of Death*, which, in my opinion, is not bad at all.
Therefore, we need the files from *Breath of Death*. Most likely, we can get by with just h3bitmap.lod and h3sprite.lod (~170 MB), but I'm not sure.

Thanks.. Lider1 as you can see, it can also be done for Armageddon's Blade, if the files are available.
if there are no files, then you don't have the game, it's logical, isn't it? If you have the Breath of Death files, then you have the game itself; what's the point of messing around with the Armageddon's Blade?
if there are no files, then there is no game, it's logical, isn't it? If there are files for The Shadow of Death, then there is the game itself, what's the point of making fun of Armageddon's Blade...
These two files don't allow you to play The Shadow of Death because the files aren't complete. Is The Shadow of Death better than Armageddon's Blade? I think the opposite.
Of course, *The Shadow of Death* is worse. Because *Armageddon's Blade* has so many bugs, and it's so interesting to use them – that's what makes it fun!
Сейчас балуюсь этим https://vcmi.eu/download/ За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
HoMM3 HD - the mod doesn't install on Armageddon's Blade (executable file h3blade.exe, version 2.1), please read the first page of the topic. And don't confuse Belendor. The Shadow of Death running on top of Armageddon's Blade is the game executable (heroes3.exe, version 3.0-3.2), while the campaigns embedded in the Armageddon's Blade's LOD file (*.lod) only indicate the resource file's content (not the version).
Is breath really better than a blade? I think the opposite.
Maybe you can explain why? Because no one here understands your position.
Breath on top of the blade is everything that's in the blade, plus everything that's in the breath, plus some bugs have been fixed. From this, it clearly follows that breath on top of the blade is at least not worse than the blade, and in my opinion, it is obviously better. If you're not aware, breath on top of the blade and breath separately are different things. Breath on top of the blade is almost the same as the complete collection.
I found time to check: to turn the blade into <breath on top of the blade>, you just need to put the Sod's h3bitmap.lod, h3sprite.lod, heroes3.snd, and video.vid (total 234 MB) into the 'data' folder and install HD. Launching h3blade.exe will give you a regular blade, launching Heroes3HD.exe will give you breath on top of the blade in HD.
2 bugs found:
Take the save from the attachment. It loads, and you see 5 heroes. Click on "View opponent's turn" (I did this both with the A+R keys and with the mouse button). After that, 3 of our former heroes appear (some of whom the opponent killed during their turn) with full turns in the 3 bottom slots for heroes. If you click on them with the left mouse button, the game crashes (they don't belong to the player, or rather, they are not on the map), but you can click on them with the right mouse button and even open the hero viewing window, switching to these heroes from the window showing our hero (which is not a problem in itself; the memory contains addresses - links to the heroes available for viewing by the player, in other words, a list of the player's heroes, and the actual belonging to the player is not taken into account in this list, which, by the way, may be the cause of other bugs, when a hero is available to another player/computer).
This bug is not present in the standalone version, but maybe the reason for it not appearing is that after the opponent's turn, there are 5 heroes, and in the standalone version, there are exactly 5.
The second bug is already present in the standalone version. It's one of the "notme" issues. When viewing the turn, you can clearly see the heroes and cities of the player whose turn is being shown (the human player), and you can even see the switching between heroes.
UPDATE: I can also upload save 211 (by the way, these are saves from the controversial match between Britvotchka and Valenok), where the red team has 8 heroes at the end of the turn, and at the end of 212 (save in the attachment), there are 5, and after viewing the turn, there are 8 again.
I also want to add an interesting thought. Is it possible to make a fix that would allow you to see the opponent's army not as it was at the beginning of the day (at the time of buying a hero and at the time of not taking part of the army due to the Hive-Ab patch, where armies are reduced by taking away stacks, down to a single unit), but as it is CURRENTLY? I think this wouldn't change the game much, but it would simply add convenience in planning your turn while viewing the opponent's turn, when you see their real army situation
