HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
R55Max, since you're reinstalling your OS, surely tweaking the video driver settings isn't that much of a problem? Here's what it looks like on my machines:
On the other hand, if I set any resolution higher than 1024*768, the monitor resolution still remained at 1024*768 physical pixels.
Launching the HD version of the game in 1024x768 resolution is possible only when the resolution is set to 1024x768 in the HD mode. Check what resolution is recorded in HiRezData\HiRez.ini and, if necessary, change it to the desired one in this file.
The Heroes3HDSetup.exe utility, after clicking Apply and Launch or Ok, saves the set resolution in HiRez.ini. I suspect that, for some reason, HiRez.ini is set to read-only or is being used by another process, and the utility doesn't say anything and doesn't change the ini file. My fault. I'll fix it in the next version. But I absolutely won't believe that it selectively records 1024x767 but not 1025x768.
