It would be good to add: "in my humble opinion." Here's my take - it's an excellent unit, much better than many others, and it fits in wonderfully. And in five hundred years, they could have gone extinct.
From korrag's list, I only like the idea of bringing back elementals as a whole race. But then you need to make them subordinate to someone, as they are creatures without reason. More precisely, their minds are only enough to fight. Then, you could add phoenixes and firebirds to this Castle. There are still three levels to come up with. But I want to note that the developers are not planning to bring them back either.
Ifrits are djinns. Medusas can be made into a sea creature that looks like a regular earthly jellyfish. Death Knights exist as neutral creatures, although they would fit well in Necropolis. But, as you know, they are not planned to be there. Nagas - I don't understand why you like them so much. In my opinion, rakshasas are much better. And they cannot exist together, as they are essentially the same units.
The screenshot of the sphinx, unfortunately, is not of the highest quality. And it would be good to see it from the side...

I want Rukh and Naga. Even as neutral creatures.

I'm against the Elemental Castle, although I loved the Conflux in the third game. Why am I against it? Try distributing almost equally strong creatures across different levels. They did a great job in the fourth game by putting all these creatures into a portal and making them all the same level. You can hire them, it doesn't break the balance, and it all makes sense.
I want Rukh and Naga. Even as neutral creatures.
So, what prevents them from differentiating Naga and Rakshasa in terms of parameters and features?
Rakshasa and Naga are essentially the same creature, but Rakshasa move on their feet, while Naga move on their tail. Then, the number of arms for Naga should be reduced to two, and they should be made to look more like snakes, otherwise they are too similar to Rakshasa.
Ancient Evil, I understand everything :), the developers don't really spoil us with screenshots :(.

Then the demons need to be changed, because they are the same. Minotaurs - horned and with hooves -_-
So, they are dull, undead, and mindless? That's why I say that elementals should be controlled by people (elves, dwarves, necromancers, or even demons).

Does "uninspired" mean lifeless and mindless? That's why I say that elementals should be controlled by intelligent beings (elves, dwarves, necromancers, or even demons).
Demons with fire and no muzzle.
I think by "uninspired" he means the very idea of the faction and the lack of a way to properly balance it.
And Rakshasas are not snake-like.
Rakshasas and Nagas. Okay, you've convinced me :). But I note that they don't fit into the world of Ashan. And besides, the developers are not going to do this.

If desired, they can be balanced.
Nagas? Don't they fit into Ashan? As far as I remember, in DM, you can find a sword made by Nagas.
One element shouldn't be stronger than another, so they can't be balanced.
But then the tier-based hero formula doesn't work; let's assume
we put air, water, and fire in the core, and earth in the elite – we still need 3 more units (phoenixes are neutral, I won't mention magical elementals, and fairies are with the elves).

They could have put dwarves in charge of the machinery, called them mechanics, and created a new race. They could have added a mechanical dragon from the 4th game, and other similar metal creatures:smile47:
