The visuals aren't very appealing yet, especially the city views, but let's see. Based on the video and screenshots, it seems that the developers are focusing on graphics and fancy features rather than the gameplay itself. I don't have high hopes, and I doubt it will be anything special. I just hope that a couple of months after the game's release, threads won't start appearing on the forums asking, "What would you like to see in Heroes 7?"
It's impossible to judge the gameplay based on a few screenshots and one CG trailer, in my opinion. We need to wait for more detailed information about the actual gameplay.5p74

Армия баранов под предводительством льва сильнее армии львов под предводительством барана.
God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns...
No matter what the developers come up with, failure is almost guaranteed. The fifth installment is weaker than the previous ones because almost all of the heroic spirit is stifled by a purely commercial project, and yet another fifth game with additional features is a complete departure from the great series. Each step from King's Bounty to Heroes 4 is a whole revolution and evolution. But there is a limit to the number of such steps, and not every company is capable of making them. The first four installments can be considered full-fledged films, and after that, it became a series based on the same concept.
Whatever the developers do, let's say a fan of the third game won't like it because they grew up playing it. I started playing with the fifth game, and I liked it a lot, and I don't see anything particularly special about the third game. It's a matter of perception, nothing more. The fifth game turned out to be quite successful commercially, now we'll wait to see what happens with the sixth game; it's possible that it won't appeal to those who started with the fifth game for the same reason that the fifth game often doesn't appeal to fans of the third game. But right now, all these assumptions are just guesswork; we'll see what happens when the game is released.

You can't evaluate the third installment based on the standards that applied to the fifth. Of course, you can criticize the graphics in the third game, but it couldn't have been different at the time. Is it normal to take all the best elements from previous installments, practically invent nothing new, and add modern graphical capabilities? This isn't the kind of series where you should do that. And you need to maintain the image of the company that took on something almost sacred. Otherwise, you add a unit, remove a unit, redraw a unit, add a building, change the number of resources, and then tweak the graphics a bit – and that's it?
The fifth installment was a breakthrough for the series in the sense that it was the first game rendered in 3D. Apparently, they considered this a significant innovation in itself. Although the fifth game essentially resembles the third (I think the developers at that time didn't want to take risks and make any serious changes to the gameplay), important new features are still present, such as the initiative panel. And when do serious changes ever please fans of any series? In the new Starcraft, for example, everything remained the same (I haven't played it, but I've read about it), and the fans are happy, with colossal sales. In the fourth Command & Conquer, on the other hand, the gameplay was significantly changed, resulting in a lot of negative feedback. The same applies to Heroes, I think; from the screenshots of the sixth game, it's clear that the gameplay hasn't changed much. The main question now is what new features will be included, but there isn't much information available yet. Still, it's unlikely that the sixth game is just the fifth game on a new engine; they must come up with something new.

The fifth installment was a breakthrough for the series in that it was the first one made in 3D.
In the fourth game, if I'm not mistaken, there was also something like 3D. Without map rotation and other features, but the unit models look quite 3D. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Proof. If it's true, we can start writing angry letters to the developers.
After a four-year hiatus, Heroes returns, cautiously updated but with a strong plot.
Ah, Pavel, Duke of the Griffin Empire, what a family you have: killed by your own daughter! Of course, Anastasia was executed, but shortly thereafter she suddenly reappears: as an immortal vampire. Her eldest son, Anton, will become the heir to the throne, but he has heard the voices of angels since childhood and is therefore somewhat obsessed. And Anastasia's twin brother, Cyril, was so shocked by his sister's fate that he let himself be persuaded to give his body as a vessel for a demon spirit. Cheerful times for the Griffin Empire! Who would be surprised that the family in Heroes 6 has fallen out bitterly and then got dragged into a fierce war between angels and demons.
The Griffin dynasty should be well known to players from Heroes 5, as the previous game from 2006 tells of King Nikolai and his wife Isabel. Heroes 6 takes place 400 years before that Era. The focus is on Anton and four of his brothers and sisters, each of whom will have their own campaign.
Accordingly, the game features five of the ten Factions that exist in the Heroes universe. There were six in the predecessor. Besides Anton (Sanctuary), Anastasia (Necropolis), and Cyril (Inferno), there will be another sister and a half-brother, whose names and factions Ubisoft is still keeping secret.
New developer, old concept.
But wait, we are talking about Heroes 6, who cares about the plot? Well yes, that is why Ubisoft took so long with the sequel, in order to make a statement about the series' universe: "The universe is very important to us," said producer Erwan le Breton, "Heroes 6 will be a strong narrative game." Le Breton leads an internal Ubisoft group that has been handling the design of the series since Heroes 5 and directly replaced the previously disbanded Russian Nival Studio, which is now sidelined from the development of Heroes 6. "We had different creative goals," Erwan explains, "Nival wanted to make an Online RPG more." Development was entrusted to the Hungarian studio Black Hole, which last released the successful Warhammer: Mark of Chaos (2006). Furthermore, for unification, Ubisoft renamed the series from Heroes of Might and Magic to Might and Magic: Heroes 6. Alongside the classic TBS, Ubisoft also has the spin-off Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes and the recently launched browser game Might and Magic: Kingdoms.
But what should be most important for the trembling fans? Heroes 6 will continue to be traditional and will be released primarily for PC. To be honest, seeing the version presented to us in Paris, at first glance, it looks like the same Heroes 5.
From a certain point of view, the new descendant even goes back a bit, in the direction of the still-best third series: the initiative-based combat system returns to classic turn-based battles, and each race will have a split between heroes mastering either the Sword or Magic. All the fundamental mechanisms will remain untouched: battles will take place as they did before, the same goes for map exploration (including the underworld), city building, and the RPG component including the inventory.
What will change?
Changes are only visible upon a second glance. Almost all are significant: of the four rare types of resources, only crystals will remain. "Until now, each faction had its own main resource," Erwan le Breton justifies the changes, "we want everyone to compete for the same rare resources. This makes the game more strategic." Basic resources — ore, wood, and gold — remain available. The second big innovation: there will no longer be a special construction screen; instead, cities will change and grow directly on the map. Along with this, Ubisoft and Black Hole are polishing many details.
Just as in the campaign, boss battles will be presented, captured enemy cities can be converted, and during the campaign, a reputation system will unlock certain additional quests. Along with this, the monster manual will be tidied up: "Approximately 50% of the units will be new," reports Le Breton. In the Necropolis, for example, insane ghouls will replace slow zombies; Inferno players, instead of horned demons, will get fat juggernauts. Whatever no longer fits the Universe will be scrapped, including gremlins, kobolds, trolls, and gnolls. And you should be on edge, waiting for those who will take their place. What does Ubisoft think regarding the abandoned ghost-mod from Heroes 5 and other Multiplayer mods? "Our thoughts are currently occupied with other matters," Le Breton comments dryly.
Editorial conclusion.
Christian Schmidt: Ubisoft remains surprisingly conservative regarding Heroes 6, while in comparison, Civilization 5 has noticeably more risky innovations. For me, this is only better; I thank God that no radical treatment was prescribed for the well-thought-out Heroes concept—on the contrary, smooth changes and a sensible campaign. Ubisoft treats the series with care. I find this commendable! And I am very happy with the achievements.
In the fourth game, if I'm not mistaken, there was also something like 3D. Without rotating the map or anything, but the unit models look quite 3D. Correct me if I'm wrong.
In sprite graphics, you can draw objects so that they look three-dimensional, but it's not real 3D. Drakkoska

Moreover, to achieve uniformity, Ubisoft renamed the series from Heroes of Might and Magic to Might and Magic: Heroes 6.
Now, explain the sacred meaning of this. Everyone is already used to HoMM, why rename it?
each race will have a division into heroes who master either the Sword or Magic.
Finally! It's about time, just like in HoMM 1 and 2.
only crystals will remain from the four rare types of resources. "Until now, each faction had its own main resource," explains Erwan le Breton, "we want everyone to compete for the same rare resources. This makes the game more strategic."
Well done. Let's also give all units of the same level the same stats, the same cost, all cities will have the same buildings, and all heroes will have the same skills...
there will no longer be a special construction screen; instead, cities will change and grow directly on the map.
But this is actually interesting. I'll ask them to reveal the location of that coveted patch of hemp.
boss battles will be featured
But in HoMM, we didn't have enough ears from the Kobolds and Adepts.
will be removed, including gremlins, kobolds, trolls, and gnolls.
Remind me, where were the kobolds in HoMM? O_O Gnolls were only in one part anyway, and that's a shame. Trolls weren't in the fifth game, and gremlins were only in two parts.
I hope they remember pegasi, basilisks, manticores, beholder, harpies, lizardmen, rocs, and others, otherwise they'll be reinventing the wheel -_-
Hmm, and soon I'll understand the fans of the third game who hate the fourth :D
they will leave one resource, let them shove it up their ass). When there are more of them, building becomes more difficult because many types are needed, and that was great. I don't know how it will be now with this one resource... okay, at least they left ore and wood.
5 castles also don't make me happy. I didn't quite understand this point... there are 10 in total, but there will be 5. i.e., they will add another five later, or they just mentioned them like in the history of the 5th game, where Nagas are mentioned, but they are not in the game?)??
Added 1 minute ago
I like the separation of heroes. I always liked this feature.
as for the other two castles, they will most likely be Elves and Mages. the second one might feature various beastmen as units, adding harpies, minotaurs, and so on, which means that the mages will resemble Dungeon... but they won't be evil, rather neutral. that is, a mix of Tower and Dungeon. it would be interesting to see that... if it turns out as I described, I will love them) they will have their own laboratories!
Added 1 minute ago
I don't like this.
on the contrary, this is good; there will be more choices in strategies. in the 5th game, some modder removed this feature, and it was terrible.
I hate it when they start cutting and reducing things! Factions, resources, buildings... What's the point of all this?! What I liked about Heroes 3 was that, compared to Heroes 2, it took a huge step forward: it increased the number of factions from 6 to 8 (I'm not counting the expansion); it increased the number of buildings; the number of creatures and their upgrades, and much more! But after Heroes 3, everything started to decrease! Why is that?!
Unlike the fifth installment, the models for female and male characters are different.
The gods have heard our prayers!
To “level up” the heroes to the coveted thirtieth level (this is the maximum development level in Heroes 6), players will have to work hard.
Why such a low maximum level?
All resource sources located near settlements will automatically start working for you.
Hello, Adepts! Come in, have a seat!
In addition to standard battles, the developers promise battles with special conditions.
That’s interesting.
5 castles also don’t please. I didn’t quite understand this point... there are 10 in total, but 5. i.e., they will add another five later, or they just mentioned them like in the story of the 5th game about the Nag, but they are not in the game?)??
Either they will gradually add content through add-ons, or it’s just for show, like with the Nag. I want add-ons.
