Mafia 17. Blood Omen.

Prologue:
In one of the many small towns located far to the west, life went on as usual. The priest had once again managed to absolve the sins of an orphan thief who stole bread from one of the shops; the boy had been caught by the armorer and taken to the church. A young nobleman was seducing another visiting beauty with his fascinating stories and bright compliments, not forgetting to wink at other ladies along the way. A street musician filled the city streets with enchanting sounds of music using his instrument. A healer and his assistant delivered medicines to sick townspeople...
But ordinary city everyday life was interrupted when a rider appeared in the square. He dismounted from his horse and began to speak:
- People, listen to me! Not far from the city, I discovered two corpses. They were pale, and there were fang marks on their necks!
Unrest immediately broke out in the crowd; everyone began to whisper, some even hurried home.
- These are spawn of darkness come for our souls! - the rider continued.
- Hey you, stop scaring the people. - a guard addressed him.
But the rider had no intention of stopping: - Save your lives before the vampires suck your blood!
- Take him away from here! - the approaching captain of the guard ordered his subordinates. They immediately grabbed the rider by the arms and dragged him away.
- Townspeople, pay no attention to what this man has said! If there is any threat, we will deal with it. - the captain reassured the townspeople. - That's all, now go home...
A few days later, the city was full of rumors not only about vampires, but also about a night beast that tears its victims apart and a hunter who arrived in town to exterminate all the same filth. Once a calm and peaceful town, it began to turn into a gloomy place where there is no room for trust and mutual aid. Panic and fear took control over the minds of the residents. People stopped leaving their homes in the evenings and began to treat each other with suspicion. Dark times had come...

Game Rules

• The game begins with night. At night, players send ND according to their role (if you decide not to use ND – notify the GM, otherwise it will be considered offline and may lead to a modkill), the GM must confirm receipt of ND. The sooner the GM receives all ND, the earlier day will come.
Night limit is 24 hours; after this, ND are not accepted. At night, no one has the right to write anything in the game thread, even in "deleted posts".

• Day lasts exactly 24 hours. In extremely rare cases, an earlier or later end of the day is possible.

• To vote for someone's execution, you must write in your message: "**execute %username%**". (the method of execution can be invented by yourself - within reasonable limits) - bold font is mandatory. If a player wants to change their vote, they must perform the same procedure of canceling the vote ("**Do not execute %username%**"), and only after cancellation vote for another player (In 1 message you can vote once and cancel a vote once, or cancel a vote once and vote once). This is for the GM to make it easier to track votes. If you do not vote in bold font, the vote will not be counted. Also, a vote will not be counted without minimal justification.

• Execution requires only a majority of votes. If a player reaches the "required" number of votes, they will still be hanged only after the end of the day and only if the votes do not change.

• If the majority vote "**Do not execute anyone**", then the day ends without executing players.

• All "double votes" are displayed only in the voting results and only if they belong to the majority.

• For the Mafia, decisions on who to kill and who to send on a mission are made collectively. If one of the mafia members is not Online, the other participants can make a decision without them.

• The killer can plant 1 additional clue at the crime scene. It must point to them and be original. (i.e., do not leave clues of the "for the super-observant" variety). As for the complexity of these clues, there is quite a lot of freedom, but the GM still reserves the right not to accept a specific clue, with or without explanation.

• Hints about killers in reports are given based on the user's profile (nick, avatar, signature, etc.). If the murder was unsuccessful, the killer will know, but will not know why it was unsuccessful. No hints are given for failed murders, except those declared by the killer themselves. Also, there is a hint to the role of the deceased in the reports.

• During the game, changing your nick, avatar, signature, and personal information is strictly forbidden. Therefore, update your profile in advance.

• Discussing the game outside this thread (i.e., in PMs, ICQ, etc.) is allowed only if you have a role that permits it.

• As soon as the news of your death/execution has been written, you are gone. Changing the profile is forbidden.

• Do not edit your messages. Try to write without errors from the start.

• Modkill (in rare cases - replacement) is performed:
- In case of a gross violation of rules or a repeated minor violation.
- If during the game day a player does not post, while not notifying the GM that they will respond in the thread on the next game day
- It may be performed at the player's request in case of any circumstances under which the player cannot take an active part in the game.

• If you have the right to perform a night action – do it before the end of the night phase and the start of the day phase (send ND to me via ICQ). I will not wait. If you didn't make it – alas...

• From time to time, I will post the count of all votes for the current game day. Of course, this is important. For me and for you. Players are also allowed to keep a count.

• If you have questions about the rules or something is unclear, please contact me via ICQ.

• It is forbidden to reveal your / someone else's role, or its elements, as well as information obtained through them, in public places or among players who are not in the same group as you. The same applies to information about other players. Phrases like "well and I know something else about him that I can't say" - a violation, regardless of whether you actually know something or are lying.
Statements such as: "I checked", "according to my information, which I cannot disclose", "I know for sure" - etc. are forbidden. Unargued shouts like "he is MAF!", "I am Peaceful"! and so on are allowed.
To avoid violating this rule, try to frame your thoughts as assumptions or as IMHO, based, for example, on hints or behavior.

• It is permitted to refer to rules, the GM, own posts, or posts of other players, as well as any external sources where you dug up some info on hints.

• First night immunity (impossibility of killing a person possessing it on the first night of the game) is given to the following participants:
- Those killed on the first night in the previous game.
- The leader of the previous game.
- Новичок (players playing "Mafia" on our forum for the first time).
- Players who missed three or more previous games.

• Advertisements can be submitted to the newspaper (mention the text of the ad in ND). Ads can be submitted in any volume, and any information can be written, including false. A banal example: "Vegtam has a bad status". Any signature (whichever you specify). Limit - 5 ads per player during the game. One message can be written per day.

• Those not participating in Mafia are forbidden from commenting on what is happening until the end of the game. Well... at least do not comment in this thread.

• Vampires can perform only one murder per night.

• An eliminated player whose role is hidden remains silent about the game until the end. They have no right to write on the forum or to anyone in PMs about their role. Also, remaining participants have no right to write to them about what role they possess. All discussions of roles are possible only between eliminated participants. Anyone violating this rule may be barred from the next game!

• And most importantly... it's just a game. The main thing is that everyone has fun.

All ND, questions and suggestions should be sent via PM or ICQ (390-439-236). It is preferable for everyone to add me on ICQ and communicate through it.

Town:

Governor - a wealthy man, heading the town by order of the Count. Has a large mansion with his own servants. Rarely leaves his house, but if he does, it is only with an entourage, so none of the locals have really seen him.
ND: wealth - once every three nights can hire guards for protection against attacks (once in any of the three days, i.e., he can hire guards on the 3rd day and then on the 4th, as a new three-day period begins)
Features: important person - double vote in voting
status: good

Healer - a middle-aged man who dedicated his life to medicine and treating people.
ND: doctor - resurrects a killed player if he comes to them on the night of the murder.
status: good

Priest - local representative of the clergy. Helps people with his divine guidance, also protects houses from filth and heals ailments.
ND: holiness - protects against vampire attacks
Features: purification - if he comes to an infected person, he heals them from the disease (ghouls and lycanthropes)
status: good

Hunter - a person who exterminates undead. Came to town to help local residents get rid of the filth that, according to rumors, flooded the city. But people do not like his methods, so they treat him with caution.
ND: extermination - kills target (if he kills a peaceful player, he dies himself)
Features: Vigilance - years of struggle against dark forces have sharpened his reflexes and taught him to always be on guard, so it is impossible to catch him off guard. This gives him 50% protection from attacks; if it triggers, it kills the attacker (except for the werewolf). Knows BC.
Dangerous kinship - if the hunter becomes a werewolf, he must kill the battle companion the next night if she is still alive.
status: bad

Battle Companion - the hunter's partner who follows him everywhere and helps in exterminating filth.
ND: none (if the hunter is killed, she begins to kill instead of him)
Features: mousetrap - if a vampire kills her, the killer's nick becomes known to the hunter. Knows the hunter.
status: good

Armorer - town blacksmith, weapon manufacturer and merchant in one person. Adds silver to every piece of his weapons, as he believes it helps fight against unholy forces.
ND: defender - can protect a target from attack, 50% probability (with successful protection can kill a werewolf)
status: good

Guard - a person ensuring the security of the town and maintaining order. Devoted with all his soul to the law and loyal to the Count.
ND: bloodhound - examines the murder scene in search of clues (receives an additional clue from the GM)
Features: combat training - 50% protection from attacks
status: good

Lothario - a rich and handsome nobleman from a noble family. He is educated, well-bred, elegant - a true gentleman capable of charming any representative of the fair sex, and his erudition and wide own horizon allow him to maintain conversation on any topic.
ND: eloquence - blocks character ND (except werewolf and garkain)
Features: charm - cannot be killed by the clan queen or battle companion
status: bad

Street Musician - a youth earning his living with his talent - playing beautiful melodies capable of mesmerizing a person.
ND: performance - mesmerizes target with music, thereby putting the listener into a trance, after which he can use their vote in voting (if they haven't voted yet)
status: bad

Child - a beggar living on the city streets. Sly and curious, but overall a good lad.
ND: surveillance - learns target status
Features: if the vampire queen attempts to kill him, he turns into a vampire.
status: good

Benevolent - a young man who considers it his duty to help all those in need in the city. An idealist by nature.
ND: help - comes to any of the players; if an attempt is made on them, he dies instead.
status: good

Lovers - a man and a woman linked by romantic relations.
ND: noisy company - the couple visits one of the players, thereby scaring killers away from the target (the killer is afraid to attack a group of people). If one of the couple dies, the ND disappears.
Features: revenge - if one of the lovers is killed, the second acquires the "Check" ND, with which they search for the killer and, if found, kill them. If one of the lovers is hanged in voting, the second becomes an avenger (maniac).
status: good

Night Hunters:

Clan Head - leader of vampires. In town, he is a respected person who inspires trust in people. Moderately wealthy, has his own mansion.
ND: murder (If he encounters a priest, the status ceases to be good)
Features: When fewer than 3 players remain in the team, the killed target (if it's a musician, lothario or governor) becomes a ghoul, whose vote vampires can use in voting. A ghoul lives one day, i.e., he will die the next night after infection unless the priest cures him (then he becomes human again).
status: good

Clan Queen - beloved of the clan head. An attractive and at the same time cruel woman whose nature manifests during hunting people, but despite this, her tender caring "self" makes her show mercy to children.
ND: murder (exception Lothario, as he seduces her and persuades her to leave him alive)
Features: Maternal feeling - if she encounters a child, she makes them a full vampire (vourdalak)
status: bad

Nosferatu - a rather secretive and small-sized vampire. Easily hides in the shadows and can move silently, which makes him an ideal killer.
ND: murder
Features: has a 50% chance to kill target without leaving clues behind
status: bad

Garkain - a vampire of strong build, surpassing his brethren in physical strength, endurance and size. Also distinguished by the fact that there is more beastly essence in him than human.
ND: murder
Features: ignores lothario's block and priest's protection, but receives a holiness burn, which forbids him from killing the next night and kills him if he does not receive fresh blood.
status: bad

Vourdalak - an ordinary member of the clan, carrying out orders of superior vampires.
ND: murder
ND2: prey - by order of the clan head can obtain blood to treat Garkain; in this case, the victim remains alive but is deprived of ND for the next night (can be used even if Garkain does not need treatment, i.e., it will be a regular block. Blood cannot be stored for Garkain in advance). Dies if he encounters a werewolf and in case of successful hunter protection.
status: bad

Cursed:

Werewolf - an unfortunate person who became a werewolf after a curse was cast upon him. Now he turns into a monster every night and goes hunting.
ND: murder (if he encounters a benevolent, guard, hunter or avenger, he infects them with lycanthropy, i.e., they become werewolves (lycanthropes)). New werewolves possess only the "rage" ability and can be cured by the priest.
Features: rage - ignores lothario's block.
Tooth for a tooth - if the werewolf is killed, the attacker dies with him.
Alpha - other werewolves cannot kill the main (first) werewolf.
status: good

Mad Scientist - walks through houses at night in search of victims for his experiments.
ND: Experiments - comes to a player and with 50% can kill them or make them a zombie (such zombies retain all abilities and ND, which they are free to use themselves, but during the day they can only vote by order of the scientist)
Feature: material search - if he comes to a player who died that night, he makes them a zombie whose vote he can control in voting. (such zombies remain without ND and abilities)
Vampires (both living and dead) cannot be turned into zombies.
status: bad
