And one more thing - the winners in most of the qualifying rounds are pure SOD players: - in Kyiv - Aldegir - pure SOD - in Michurinsk - Leha - pure SOD - in Moscow - Eddie - pure SOD - Siberia - Van - pure SOD Therefore, you can count "most" like this ;) - 4 out of 7 for SOD, and only one - Yekaterinburg - for TE. Statistics is a tricky science :)
Since Yekaterinburg was mentioned, I'll add my two cents to this statistic... as I understand it, all the qualifying rounds were held on SOD (Lite), so what's so surprising that SOD players won? ... if you hold them on TE/WT, I think the picture will change, and quite drastically. And if we're talking about the matter at hand, it would be better to install all versions on computers... according to the rules, let there be one version, and the opponents can agree among themselves, I hope this is not prohibited?

The difference is that EVERYONE starts with SOD, and EVERYONE knows how to play it; of course, SOD players might not be able to orient themselves immediately in an unfamiliar version.
Wlk777The difference is that EVERYONE started with SoD and EVERYONE knows how to play it; naturally, in an unfamiliar version, SoD players might not be able to get their bearings right away. That much is clear, but the point remains the same: if you've already grown used to WT/TE, the hotkeys, and all those conveniences and balance changes, then when switching back to SoD, you might simply overlook or forget something—even a small detail—but even that can affect the outcome
That makes sense, but the core remains the same. If you're used to World Tree/The Eastern Expansion with its quick keys and all those conveniences and balance adjustments, then when you switch back to Castle of the Dead, you might miss something or forget something, even something small, but it can still affect the outcome.
So, is it easier to play in a new, unfamiliar version than in a familiar but forgotten one?

for sure - the bank, being a punching bag for rays in Dragon Utopia, extra health for specialists, priorities in the skill tree - these are things that have become automatic; your brain counts on them, but reality lets you down :D
If we're talking about what's best, it's better to install all versions on the computers... let there be one official version according to the rules, and the players can agree among themselves. I hope this isn't prohibited?
I've already written that we plan to install all versions in the club - SoD with the lighter patch, TE-full, TE-light, and WT.
Tonight, I'm going to the club to make preliminary arrangements. I've invited Volodymyr and Sem to join me. I hope Vik will fix the bugs in the light patch, and closer to the tournament, someone (Volodymyr) will help me install all the versions so they work correctly on the computers.
I'm asking again - please stop the argument about the version. Or move it to the appropriate thread. And I ask everyone to review the list of finalists - analyze who they will play against and on which version if they meet in the draw. I think there won't be any arguments about the version - personally, everyone is much more reasonable and can come to an agreement. :)
Yesterday, I asked Mizrael on ICQ if he could come to Kyiv if needed... he gave an inappropriate answer... I don't know what I did to offend him. Regarding Vitalik - I don't know why Samurai is so fixated on him and me. Could it be love? I've repeated several times that the lineup in Moscow was stronger - the winners of the tournament in Michurinsk, Preds and Stinger, didn't make it to the finals in Moscow. Plus, Vitalik was accused of cheating - but I think he played quite well in Moscow - and he might show his skills in Kyiv as well. Or is someone just trying to make noise - i.e., without proof - and continue to talk about his cheating? Because it's clear that cheating can only be detected in person, and the club is the best place for that. I think this is Samurai's doing - he's afraid of Vitalik. ) Besides, personally for me, there are only two players in the list who have taught me something - Vitalik and Scorp. The rest, frankly, are just players who are trying to catch up or who get lucky with a lot of cons. But these two taught me something. There's also Darth, Tourist, Anton, and my clanmates, the Lords - but they're mostly offline players. Plus, even Volodymyr admitted that he learned a lot from Vitalik.
What's my point? I contacted Mizrael yesterday with the intention of inviting him to the tournament - if there's a dispute, why not invite everyone from this controversial situation? I.e., Wowa, Mizrael, Scorp? I think we won't suffer much with the Swiss system
Дипломатия - искусство говорить собаке "хорошая собачка" до тех пор пока не найдешь подходящую палку.
Besides, Volodymyr even admitted that he learned a lot from Vitalik.
Admitted – that’s not quite the right word :) I never hid it :)
Here are a few more thoughts on the version: You don’t have to set it up so that the TE players don’t care, they can even play Shades of Darkness. Like, there’s no need to show off. But the SoD players, poor unfortunate souls who have never seen TE, how will they cope, poor things? If possible, please :)
Here are a few more thoughts on the matter :) You don't necessarily have to set up the matchups so that TE players don't care, they can even play SOD. There's no need for them to put on airs. But SOD players, poor things, have never seen TE before, so how will they fare, those poor souls? If possible, please :)
Well, it's clear that when a TE player and a SOD player meet, they'll play SOD/Light, but when two pure TE players/WT players meet... why torture them with SOD? ... let them have the opportunity to play WT/TE mutually.

Captain
I already wrote that the club plans to install all versions - SOD with lighter, TE-full, TE-light, and WT.
No one will be tortured. It's just an outdated version that the whole world plays, and it will be the basic one.
The captain gets a reprimand for being rude :smile10:
Organizing is one thing, but the list of participants is determined not by personal whim, but by an established procedure. Therefore, it is difficult to send someone.
Keba says that he will not be able to come, so at the moment the tickets from Moscow and Michurinsk are as follows:
Moscow: 1. Eddie 2. Pit 3. Stinger
Michurinsk: 1. Leha 2. Preds 3. Mizrael
If someone else cannot make it, then Vitalik is next in line, followed by Skorp.
So, everything is clear. I request that Nagana replace Captain, who has become overly arrogant, and resolve all issues regarding the version, participants, and vote counting. Currently, it's turning into blatant nepotism; Captain ignores real facts, twists the words of potential participants, tries to push through the people he wants, and much more – all of this is starting to resemble a farce. Let's bring everything to a fair and just conclusion with a person who has authority (I suggest Nagana, because I can't think of anyone better for this). By the way, 2 qualifying rounds are being organized in Minsk – it would be good to pay attention to that. All these actions by Captain are really just discouraging people from wanting to/being able to go to the finals, and Mizrael, as a strong player, confirms this. Let Captain organize things on the ground (club, accommodation, events) if he really wants to help.
Captain, please note that there will be a qualifying tournament in Dnipro + 1-2 in Belarus, so 32 people in the final is just right, and making it an Olympic-style or Swiss-system tournament with 5 rounds (1 match per day) is not a big deal. :) P.S. Is anyone working on the cultural program? :) I wouldn't want to spend all day in a club. P.P.S. samurai....
