Of course, we were a bit late with the nominations for 2008 (in terms of the Nomination Committee). Well, nothing can be done about it now – they have just been formed. And there was even a proposal to hold an award ceremony for 2007. How to pull that off is a mystery to me; almost no one from that time remains anymore. Let's try to sort things out with 2008...

I want to say a big thank you to those who nominated me and for the kind words addressed to me. I won’t speak for others, but I don’t consider myself one of the “Founding Fathers,” and much in the game is still unknown to me, which I often realize during games with real Founding Fathers. Therefore, if ABI considers my candidacy suitable, I will gladly compete for such a beautiful and honorable trophy and do not see anything offensive in this for myself.
/Regarding my experience with the game. A computer appeared in our family when I was 4 years old. From the early 90s, my sister and I played practically all the games. Heroes was among them, of course. But the computer consistently lost, so interest in the game faded rather quickly. I played several times with classmates, but they weren't much better than the computer. That's why now I am surprised to read Heroic Stories by Nagan-4. It turns out it was great! In January 2008, we got unlimited internet at home. Immediately, Heroes came to mind. I registered on ХВ, and I didn't know about the existence of other forums. I played several times without reports; COLORADO taught me how to build chains. In spring and summer, I played a lot, met good people and players - Lider1, Dubrovin Pavel, OUTLAW, SpiriTT (Artem, we played for 2 minutes, remember?), Dekontaminator, Dreamcatcher, Volland, Javdet, invisible, scorp, who showed me how to play this game./

And my candidate is Javdet. He joined the forum a week later than me. He also played very often: spring-08 – 41 games, 7th place in the ranking, summer-08 – 49 games, 9th place in the ranking. In May, Nagan-4 persuaded three complete newbies: Colorado, Javdet, and myself (team "Colorado Beetles") to participate in the Team Tournament, which we successfully finished in last place.
Javdet took part in all our few tournaments, as well as those that weren't ours, and quickly progressed:
7th ONLINE tournament HOMM3 '08,
SECOND ON-LINE TOURNAMENT HOMM3 TE - 2nd place,
in autumn on ХП he took 3rd place in the “Black Dragon” tournament.
And at the end of 2008, he “progressed” so much that he was included as a reserve player in the ХВ team against ХП, although he didn’t get to play then.
Also, at the end of 2008, Roman began organizing his first (but not last) tournament on our forum. And in general, he is a patriot of ХВ and a good person.
I really hope he won't be offended by me for wanting to award him with the "Newbie" title.

And a miniature under the avatar in the form of the Helmet of Celestial Enlightenment would be very symbolic – it was the ХВ forum that gave the owner of this award +6 to everything.

I remember :) I lost back then because of an Implosion scroll :) I thought 40+ ranged units were a good argument, but it turned out otherwise. It really cheered me up :)

Even if stones fall from the sky!!! The candidacy of Pit for LM. Period. One of (if not the) most responsive, kind, understanding, down-to-earth, wise... people of this forum I have ever communicated with! In such a period of time to earn a spot in the HeroesWorld national team, and not just to break into it, but to immediately become almost the only one who wrote reports for this team with the word "def"
A man of the people, if one may say so, who has gone through such a path deserves not only the nomination but the award itself!

I grew as a judge and organizer together with our forum, so I am well aware of the strength of players in 2008. Definitely, Pit! But many good players joined during this period.

Many good players and great people joined in 2008! It’s hard to even choose… I’m applying for the “Rookie of the Year” title (my computer appeared 1.5 years ago… and before that, I only asked classmates to play) but not for “Best Player.” I didn’t play much… except towards the end of the year. I have a question… For example, bRitvo4ka joined in 2008… he didn’t start with losses, but he was still a rookie…!!! He achieved his best results in 2009… and based on those results, he might be nominated for “Player of the Year 2009” (I can’t even bring myself to call him a rookie). But he somehow missed out on the “Rookie” nomination… I can’t say the same about Pita… (I played against him twice, and only huge luck allowed me to win). He played very well… As for who I would suggest adding to the poll, it would be Javdet, Lider1, Sem_56.
They are great guys and have achieved a lot, both in the game and in organizing tournaments. Now they are very, very strong opponents.

Voted first. Initially suggested Pete, but since the nomination is "Новичок 2008" relative to HeroesWorld, my opinion is that LeBron fits better after all! I would vote for Pete in the "Player of 2008" category

I voted for Lider1 because, out of the entire list, he fits this nomination the best. He made good progress. Javdet also played well, but he also stood out in terms of organizing tournaments, so he's more suitable for the nomination for contribution to development. LeBron, as I recall, already came to us as an excellent player. Pit for LM is suitable for all nominations, of course. I think he'll win one of the top 3, so let him give others a chance. Aldegir - but this guy hasn't earned any award yet (he lost a clan war game, for example). He still has a lot to learn and hasn't distinguished himself in any way. He played rarely, didn't organize tournaments, and often missed tournaments himself. In short, he's quite a character.
