I never get tired of life.
I don't like any time of year,
When I don't sing cheerful songs.
I don't like cold cynicism,
I don't believe in enthusiasm, and also -
When someone reads my letters,
Peeking over my shoulder.
I don't like it when it's only halfway,
Or when a conversation is interrupted.
I don't like it when they shoot in the back,
I'm also against a shot at close range.
I hate gossip in the form of versions,
Worms of doubt, the sting of honors,
Or when it's always against the grain,
Or when it's iron on glass.
I don't like complacent certainty -
It's better if the brakes fail.
I'm annoyed that the word "honor" has been forgotten,
And that slander behind one's back is in vogue.
When I see broken wings -
There is no pity in me, and for good reason:
I don't like violence and helplessness,
But I do feel sorry for the crucified Christ.
I don't like myself when I'm a coward,
I'm annoyed when the innocent are beaten.
I don't like it when they pry into my soul,
Especially when they spit in it.
I don't like arenas and circuses -
They trade a million for a ruble.
Let there be big changes ahead -
I will never like this! (c)
I think everyone knows the author?
I fully support Vladimir Semenovich; I would add a couple more phrases, but it wouldn't be as beautiful. So, enjoy these! :) It's a classic, what do you say...
