Good evening, dear fans of Heroes of Might and Magic 3!
As mentioned, Heroes is not just a game, but also a competition, so for most of the game, we prepare for battles, and sometimes for a single, decisive battle to win the game... What is needed to win? I think many readers know the famous saying: "The best defense is offense..." Therefore, in this chapter, I would like to talk specifically about Attack, Offense, and Maximum Damage!
The information I will provide is, to some extent, superficial, and in some ways, accurate... therefore, after reading my article, I will be happy to give my advice to beginners and will be glad to discuss something with experienced players!!!...
Why did I say superficial? - because, in my opinion, the creators of the game left secrets... which can possibly be calculated or learned, but it is difficult to do so. For example, I used Archangels and Pikemen as test subjects. I took Adelaide as the starting hero (since she has no attack or defense skills)... and decided to attack Gnolls with different training, standing next to the castle!
For those who may not remember, I would like to remind you of the Archangel's parameters: attack - 30, defense - 30, damage - 50.... Pikeman - 4, 5 damage, 1-3, Gnoll - 3, 5...
Now I will provide you with a table, which shows the damage dealt by one Archangel and Pikeman, which they inflicted on Gnolls under the leadership of Adelaide, level 1, but with different attack and defense skills:
As you can see, with the Archangel, it is somewhat clearer, since with each increase of 10 points in attack, the damage increased by a certain number... it was more difficult with the Pikeman, the damage varied within the ranges I indicated... All this was inflicted by Adelaide, level 1 (with only Advanced Wisdom as a skill), I attacked the Gnolls 3 times with each unit, and therefore I indicated the exact damage. Let's move on....
The damage indicated in parentheses in the section where the attack and defense are 20, was inflicted by the Pikeman 3 times in a row!!! What exactly changed there and why did I put it in parentheses? - To increase the skill to 20, 20... for the first 10, 10, I used the "Eternal Walk" spell, gaining experience in camps, and the remaining 10, I added by equipping certain artifacts - (a hat +6 to all (skills), a necklace +3 (skills), and armor +1 (skills)), thus obtaining 20, 20... my Pikemen inflicted 1-5. But adding the same 10, 10 artifacts (Sword +12, -3, and Shield +12, -3, and armor +1 (skills)), they already inflicted - from 3-5.
It turns out to be strange, it turns out that 20, 20 from some artifacts differs from what is obtained from others. Moreover, the damage on the Archangel did not change, since it simply has 50 damage... and for those monsters, whose damage varies, the damage with the sword becomes greater!!! I noticed this in battles... for example, participating with approximately the same parameters (+-1, 2), the damage of a warrior with a sword was greater than that of one without a sword... (and the skills were developed equally for both heroes at the time of the meeting - Expert Attack, Defense, and Shooting)...
In my opinion, this is, so to speak, additional attack, which the sword adds, inflicting somewhere 5-10% additional (again, this is just my opinion, someone may not agree with it) and this is a kind of highlight that the creators of the game came up with. Just like the fact that the damage inflicted by the Archangel on the Gnolls was not very clear and was equal from the very beginning to 115!!!??? although his parameters are 30, 30, damage 50, and if you add 30 to 50 and subtract the opponent's defense... it doesn't add up ((( but (maybe I don't know something and I would be glad if someone could explain this more precisely). As I think, it is possible to calculate the damage accurately, but using the example of the Archangel (for whom it is more or less clear), the variation in damage was invented not just like that... otherwise, if it were possible to always calmly calculate everything, then by looking into the tavern and seeing a sufficient advantage in parameters over the opponent, it would be possible to immediately go and defeat him... (of course, if the skills are the same... and not that one has Wisdom, Literacy, and so on, and the other has Attack, Defense, etc.)
Next... I made a table in which I wrote down the damage with different parameters and when Adelaide reached a certain level (skills - Attack, Defense, Shooting, Earth Magic, Water Magic....) also using the Blessing spell.
Attack and Defense Level Archangel Pikeman
20 20 25 177 (bless. 180) 1-3 Damage
30 30 25 202 (bless. 206) 4 (bless 10) Damage
40 40 25 215 (bless. 219!) 5 Damage
50 50 25 215 (bless 219) 10 (bless 14) Damage Further, for the sake of interest, I trained Adelaide to level 50 with parameters 50, 50 and gave the Archangels Expert Blessing, Prayer, and just Bloodlust... the damage remained the same, and the Pikemen already had 15. Then I decided to go even further and developed Adelaide to level 88 with parameters 87, 64 and gave all the above spells, the damage remained the same - 219! This is the maximum damage that an Archangel can inflict... the Pikeman already had a variation of 8-17.
Then I became interested in testing such a trained Archangel in a battle against untrained Archangels of another hero, level 1 (also advanced Wisdom)... It turned out that such an Archangel can easily defeat 4 untrained ones, and if you play against the computer... and skip the first turn, taking the first hit, you can defeat 5 Archangels.
The most interesting thing is that attacking Adelaide, level 1, on the same Gnolls... and giving them just Blessing, the damage remained the same - 115, as I indicated in the first table... and then changing the number of Archangels to 5, the damage from Blessing did not increase!!!??? The same story with the Pikemen...
In this article, I would also be glad to learn from you, dear readers... interesting information regarding Morale and Luck... Since I myself know only that Luck is also an attack, which some sometimes do not take seriously (and I myself rarely study these skills)... but now, studying attack, I learned that it is especially needed for those monsters whose damage varies, because, for example: - if the damage of 10 creatures is from 100-200, and it can be 160 or 170... if Luck occurs, then it reaches the maximum damage, i.e. 200 points + 20-25% more... (maybe I indicated not quite accurately, but somewhere like that)... and this can be a decisive factor in battle... This is, of course, a matter of taste, and I am not urging you to study these skills, since some simple artifact of level 1 can easily neutralize all these bonuses... and therefore it is worth thinking about what to put on the hero before the decisive battle - a necklace that +3 (to all) or one that +3 to Luck and Morale!?
I think that's all I wanted to tell you... I will be glad to hear from you, too, some information!!! :smile13:
Sincerely, Gomunguls.
