General requirements for tournaments:
I
Rules must contain the following clause:
Before registering for any tournament on HeroesWorld, you must understand that you become a part of it, and its execution depends on you as one of the players. To create a general positive impression of the tournament, it is necessary to follow its rules and have respect for the organizers and its participants. An important component of a good tournament is playing all scheduled matches. To reduce the percentage of unplayed matches, this rule regulates the maximum number of possible match forfeits - no more than 30% of the total number of matches and no more than one match in a row by a single player, as well as a penalty for violating this rule - if a player does not respond to proposals to play tournament games - a ban on participation in tournaments on HeroesWorld for a period of 6 months. If a player has a valid reason for refusing to participate in the tournament and informed the organizer about it during the tournament - a ban on participation in the next tournament on HW.
I.e., if you have any reason preventing you from playing matches on time, or the entire tournament - notify me via ICQ or PM, the reason may not be specified, then you will only face disqualification from the next tournament.
Before the start of the tournament, post an announcement in the topic table of current online HoMM3 tournaments
1 Random
For the rules of a tournament on random maps, it is advisable to use seasonal rules, or rules that are as close to them as possible.
Rules for online HoMM3 games on HeroesWorld
1. General Provisions
1.1. Online duels are played using any version of HoMM3. You can find an opponent here, where anyone wishing to play leaves their application in free form, but with the mandatory indication of the game version and ICQ. We recommend also specifying the main nuances of the mandatory conditions you agree to play under, to facilitate the search for opponents. For example:
invisible, Platinum or WoG, turn timer 6 minutes, random L+U, template 2SM4d(3), ICQ XXX-XXX-XXX. Waiting for two hours.
1.2. In order for games to be counted in the rating table, it is necessary to write reports in the appropriate topic. For the convenience of maintaining the rating table and statistics, reports should be written according to the following scheme:
Winner (color, Castle, starting hero, main hero) def Loser (color, Castle, starting hero, main hero), template (if fixed, map name), game time.
vbn (red, Dungeon, Shakti, Shakti) def invisible (blue, Inferno, Pyrr, Marius) 2SM4d(3) 136.
The template name can be seen during the game in the "scenario information".
Writing such a report is mandatory if these players want these games to be counted in the rating. If desired, you can describe the games in more detail. The game will be counted only after writing the aforementioned report and mandatory confirmation from the loser.
Additional conditions for confirming reports >>
1.3. These rules imply games on random maps, but games on fixed maps will also be counted in the rating if a report is written and accordingly confirmed by the opponent.
Any changes to the rules are allowed by mutual agreement of the players, except for clause 6. That is, you can play by mutually agreed-upon rules or without any rules at all (again, clause 6 applies under any circumstances). If agreement on changing (supplementing) any rule clause is not reached through negotiations, players are guided by these rules. HOWEVER: we recommend discussing all this in advance via ICQ, because in the event of controversial situations, the judge, when rendering a verdict, will be guided by the following: these rules, provided ICQ logs, and (in cases not covered by these rules) at their own personal discretion.
The rating will be reset each season, and therefore each season will have a "season winner" based on the table results.
2. Map Settings Options
players – 2; computers – 0; teams – 0; map size L+U; templates – by agreement, but I recommend 2sm4d(3), – for this you need to download the file attached at the end of this post and unpack it into the "Data" folder; no water; monsters strong; difficulty 160%; turn time limit – 6 minutes.
3. Color and Castle Selection
Participants select castles using the elimination method, that is, players take turns eliminating castles they do not want to play until 3 castles remain. The player who started eliminating first chooses a castle from the three remaining, the second player chooses from the two remaining and the color they want to play.
Example:
invisible - Conflux
vbn - Necropolis
invisible - Fortress
vbn - Stronghold
invisible - Rampart
vbn - Castle
invisible chooses from the remaining Inferno, Dungeon, and Tower – Inferno, and vbn chooses Dungeon and the color red.
4. Restarts
Each player has the right to restart twice: on the first day of the game and within three days, that is, to start a new game with a regenerated map.
Mandatory restarts:
– if the starting hero is above level 1;
– if a player has more than one castle from the start;
– if the Fort is not built in the starting castle;
– restart upon meeting up to and including day 116, that is, if players come into direct contact with each other using any of their heroes in the first six game days (simply put, if any battle occurs between them), then one of them has the right to demand a restart. If both players agree to continue, that is their right.
5. Prohibitions and Limitations
5.1. Banned heroes: Sir Mullich. If this hero reaches level 3, they must be dismissed on the same day.
5.2. All heroes specializing in level 4 magic, as well as Tanth (Animate Dead), may use their signature spells against the opponent in the following cases:
a) If the corresponding level of the Mage Guild (MG) is built in any of the controlled castles. If the required MG level is not present in these castles, it is necessary to fully build MG of all levels in any two castles that you own. Alternatively, capture the opponent's castle with the required MG already built (regardless of how long the captured castle remains under control). Visiting this castle with a hero is not mandatory.
b) Find and visit the "Shrine of Magic Thought" with the required magic.
c) If any of your heroes receives the corresponding spell from a Pandora's Box, pyramid, after visiting a scholar, or in a spell book.
Against neutral monsters, as well as against the computer (if one is present on the map), level 4 magic specialists and Tanth may use their signature spells without the above limitations.
It is allowed to transfer level 4 spells and Animate Dead from specialists to other heroes, but trained heroes may use them only after fulfilling subclauses a, b, c of clause 5.2. That is, these spells cannot be used against neutral monsters, the computer, or the opponent without fulfilling the above conditions.
5.3. Isra and Vidomina are forbidden from upgrading the "Sorcery" skill to "Expert" level. Otherwise, this hero must be dismissed within four days of obtaining Expert Sorcery (example: on day 124, Vidomina levels "Sorcery" to "Expert" level, therefore, at the latest, on day 127, she must be dismissed).
5.4. If Sir Mullich above level 3, or a Necromancy specialist (Isra, Vidomina) with Expert "Sorcery" skill is freed from prison, then these heroes must be dismissed within four days from the moment of release from prison. During these four days, these heroes are allowed to participate in battles.
If a hero Sir Mullich above level 3, as well as Isra or Vidomina with Expert Sorcery is bought in the tavern, they must be dismissed within 4 days of purchase.
If Sir Mullich above level 3, as well as Isra or Vidomina with Expert Sorcery end up in the tavern after fleeing, it is forbidden to buy them.
5.5. The so-called "red rush" is forbidden, that is, the player playing red has no right to attack the blue player on the first day of the week with troops grown on that day. However, troops that come with a hero bought on that day can be used.
5.6. Hit-and-run is forbidden: the attacking hero has no right to retreat in the first round of combat if they have used combat magic or any other magic that has in any way dealt damage to the opponent. This prohibition does not apply to the defending hero.
5.7. It is forbidden to join any monsters. Receiving any troops from Pandora's Boxes and from seers is allowed. Diplomacy is allowed, but only for reducing the cost of buying off monsters. If monsters want to join, refuse and either kill them or let them flee. That is, killing is not mandatory.
5.8. It is forbidden to use scrolls of level 4 and 5 magic spells without building the corresponding level of the Mage Guild (MG) in any of your castles. If the required MG level is not present in the starting castle, it is necessary to act according to subclauses a, b, c of clause 5.2.
5.9. Any hero may use the "Town Portal" spell no more than 1 time per day.
5.10. "Angel Wings" are allowed to be used without any restrictions, as long as this does not contradict clause 5.13.
5.11. It is forbidden to visit Cartographers and the "Hill Fort".
5.12. It is forbidden to enter neighboring territories without defeating the guard standing at the passage (that is, if it is moved). If two or three guards are scattered along the road – any one can be defeated at choice.
In the absence of a guard at the passage, including a moved one, it is allowed to freely move from one respawn to another.
5.13. It is forbidden to take Pandora's Boxes, scrolls, artifacts, or visit various objects from behind a moved guard without defeating that guard. It is forbidden to visit objects, take Pandora's Boxes, scrolls, artifacts using the "Fly" or "Town Portal" spells, or with the help of Angel Wings, without defeating the corresponding guard. Chests, campfires, and resources are allowed to be taken using the aforementioned spells and wings, as well as from behind a moved guard.
5.14. It is forbidden to assemble the combined artifact "Cloak of the Undead King". All other combined artifacts are allowed to be assembled.
5.15. The Grail can be dug up after 5 weeks of play.
5.16. In the Conflux town, upgrading level 1, 6, and 7 monsters is forbidden. When playing as Conflux, the starting hero is chosen randomly during map generation.
5.17. In the Necropolis town, building the Necromancy Amplifier is forbidden.
5.18. It is allowed to buy and use any monsters in "Creature Pools".
6. Fair Play
The most important clause: players must play fairly and respect each other. It is forbidden to use cheat codes and various "bugs". It is also forbidden to open save files or view the map in the editor until the game is finished. A game is considered finished when one player has completely destroyed the other, or one of them has surrendered, which must be confirmed via ICQ. Only after this is it allowed to open save files.
7. Miscellaneous
If a "stalemate" situation occurs in combat, the attacking player must retreat. For example: the attacker has 100 Dwarves remaining during the battle, while the defending hero has 1 Serpent Fly. And the 100 Dwarves cannot catch the Serpent Fly. In this case, the attacker with 100 Dwarves must retreat (or buy off). If someone is wearing the "Shackles of War", it is necessary to load the last save, repeat all moves exactly as they were made before this battle, disband the troops that were killed during this battle. Then the player(s) wearing the Shackles must remove them, the attacker must attack and flee/buy off.
If a disconnect occurs during the game, the player who was taking their turn finishes their current turn and saves the game. Then load from this save and continue. Alternatively, load the autosave of the player who was inactive at that moment. If the connection was lost during a battle, then after loading, all combat moves are repeated as closely as possible to those that occurred before the disconnect.
In the event of any controversial issues, please discuss them in the specially designated topic.
