This isn’t modern.

Not a big fan of MDM, although the genre itself is close to my taste.
I prefer Melodic MetalCore or Brutal DeathCore/GrindCore. I'm a fan of that.
And from MDM, I prefer Disarmonia Mundi.
P.S.: I dug through my archives and found Scar Symmetry.

O. Agreed. Great groups. Although, I don't quite understand how they can be combined with grinding.

Any good music that you like can be combined.
You can listen to Death/Grind and Sympho/Gothic and BritPop (which I successfully combine:D).

What do you think of the bands Burden of Grief and Soilwork? :)

I didn't really appreciate Soilwork, but what I heard sounded quite decent and interesting. As for the name of the first band, I can only vaguely recall it.

Burden of Grief isn't a very popular band. On Last.fm, they only have 15,000 listeners. I've been listening to the band for a little over a year. Back then, the respected 2DDarkKnight shared the song "The Nightmare Within" with me.

Melodic Death - The best!

I love melodic death metal; it has great music. But death metal just overwhelms the brain, and there's almost no music there. True, I haven't listened to much melodic death metal; I listen to gothic symphonic metal more. By the way, what's the difference between metalcore and melodic death metal? I like Children of Bodom, Dark Lunacy, Diablo; I don't think I've listened to anything else in detail.

By the way, how does metalcore differ from death metal?

In Classic Death Metal, there is a partial influence of hardcore, while Metalcore is a full-fledged symbiosis of Thrash Metal and Thrashcore; the transitions between riffs are faster...

I love MDM, although I haven't gone beyond CoB, Arch Enemy, and Amon Amarth yet. My favorite band is probably Amon Amarth, especially now that I'm hooked on their early albums (I started with their later ones). Among metalcore bands, I appreciate Trivium, but not everything they do appeals to me.

I agree... Although, in my opinion, early Therion and Haggard are quite good. Back then, the term MDM probably didn't exist yet.

Brutal Death used to really get on my nerves, but now, strangely enough, I can listen to it calmly, even without any strain... although I guess Black is to blame for that...

The concept of Melodic Death Metal has existed since the emergence of bands like this: http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/At_The_Gates. As for the connection between brutal and melodic death metal, I don't quite understand it.

I used to listen to MDM, but then I moved away from that style. Well, of course, I didn't miss Kalmah, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, and other greats. At The Gates was a great band, but they became even better with The Haunted. ;)

Still, they must have started with something, or did they just suddenly turn on Children of Bodom?:eek: Are there any who started with metal with them?

I've always liked "Sodom". And I was sure they play death/thrash metal (at least in their latest albums). But people keep telling me it's thrash. I don't understand where the thrash is? It's melodic!
