What do you think about the melodic death metal genre?

I love MDM, although I haven't gone beyond CoB, Arch Enemy, and Amon Amarth yet. My favorite band is probably Amon Amarth, especially now that I'm hooked on their early albums (I started with their later ones). Among metalcore bands, I appreciate Trivium, but not everything they do appeals to me.

I agree... Although, in my opinion, early Therion and Haggard are quite good. Back then, the term MDM probably didn't exist yet.

true, I haven't listened to much MDM, I listen more to gothic symphonic metal
