What do you think about the melodic death metal genre?

Not a big fan of MDM, although the genre itself is close to my taste.
I prefer Melodic MetalCore or Brutal DeathCore/GrindCore. I'm a fan of that.
And from MDM, I prefer Disarmonia Mundi.
P.S.: I dug through my archives and found Scar Symmetry.
