I am satisfied with the current size of the battlefield (perhaps because I am not a fan of Haven). All 7 native units fit, and if you want to keep someone in reserve, that's also possible. You can fight with those who are most needed in each specific case. I don't see anything unreasonable about the siege and defense of castles (unless for a player who wants to take cities with Paladins or Treants). There is magic and flying units, even if the catapult is destroyed immediately. By the way, Haven also has griffins that can dive from any distance. And for those who don't see how to fight against Inferno, I can advise them to cast Armageddon as early as possible (stacks are smaller, and gating is also smaller, and in terms of HP, Inferno is not the best).

Don't worry about that :) , if the faction is really your favorite, you'll play as it no matter what (like I played as Sorceress in the second game, and I'm sure I'll play as Dungeon in the fifth).

Why does everyone only talk about the size of the battlefield, and no one talks about the size of the map itself? They say that the size of a large map in "Heroes 5" is somewhere between "L" and "M" from the third "Heroes" game. This is very bad because I mostly like to play "Hot Seat". Doesn't anyone care about the size of a random map?

I think the size between L and M is just right. I read somewhere that the developers are trying to speed up the process to make the game more interesting...
And IMHO, for hot seat games, these types of maps are the best because by the time you reach someone else's castle, it's time to go home.

Not only that, but now that the heroes are 3D, more objects can be placed in a small area, which means that even a small map will still be as packed as an XL map.

I wonder what the S map will look like. Castle-monster-castle?:)
