About a year ago, I used to visit this site quite often. Once again, the wandering metalhead's foot has strayed to these pages of the internet :). If it weren't for Inferno in Heroes, I wouldn't have come here, but it is here :) So, I'm back.

I see the site has grown, even with a separate section for music, and if there's such a section, the devil will be very angry if we don't talk about IRON MAIDEN in it :)

Definitely, Iron Maiden is one of the best heavy metal bands. One of my favorite groups :) I can't claim to have been listening to Iron Maiden my whole life, but that doesn't stop me from admiring their work. I recommend it to everyone who hasn't listened to them yet, and to everyone who does listen – respect ;)

Wow, I have the warmest memories associated with Iron Maiden and the album "Piece of Mind." I learned (or tried to learn) to play while listening to these tracks for hours on end. I liked it then, and I still enjoy listening to it and reminiscing now! :-)))

Man, you guys are something else... You can say that about Maxim, but you absolutely have to listen to Iron Maiden! If you don't like the heaviness, listen to a piano tribute; if you don't like the piano, listen to a string version. And that's not even mentioning the fact that a Japanese folk orchestra released an album with Iron Maiden covers. Nothing special???? Everyone has different tastes, of course... But to say that the greatest band in the world is nothing special... Hmm...


P.S. This is NWOBHM, not heavy metal. Heavy metal is Black Sabbath and Judas Priest.

And in general, it's a legendary band. Iron Maiden has high-quality and quite diverse music, although the atmosphere is often similar. Perhaps one of the few bands that I started listening to relatively recently, and its songs still don't bore me.:)

The thing is, they started by playing heavy metal, then Heroes of Might and Magic, and now they're playing something that sounds very much like progressive rock.

Why don't you go listen to your progressive stuff. They're playing heavy metal right now, with a touch of speed metal.

I'll add my humble opinion (though I can't quite grasp the difference between NWBHM and regular heavy metal). They play something in the heavy metal genre with elements of progressive rock (the characteristic "complexity" of the music and songs that are 10 minutes long). Personally, I liked some of their new songs, but not all of them.

Yeah, that's a bit much... guys... Prog-metal is Kamelot and bands like them. Maiden doesn't have a single prog element. Songs that are 10 minutes long??? Can you even name ten of those? All songs that are that long have a specific meaning in their length; for example, "Rise of the Ancient Mariner" tells an ancient story, and it was necessary to include an episode with lyrics and show the atmosphere. And even that one is only about 8 minutes long. Amar, you're completely wrong. I suggest you delete the message before Exz sees it.

Well, Iron Maiden has many long songs. Here's a list from their last three albums, each around 8-9 minutes long ("A Matter Of Life And Death," "Dance Of Death," "Brave New World"). "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" (8:46) "For The Greater Good Of God" (9:25) "The Legacy" (9:23) "Dance Of Death" (8:37) "Paschendale" (8:28) "Dream Of Mirrors" (9:21) "The Nomad" (9:06) "The Thin Line Between Love And Hate" (8:27) That's already 8. P.S. "Rise of the ancient mariner" is 13:39 long.
