Posts from With the launch of any of the 5 Heroes games (original, expansions, unofficial expansions).
They were bought, but I think NeoGame is the official distributor.
Anyway, there are no protections or anything! But the fact that it worked on SP2 and doesn't work on SP3...
I got a licensed version of Tribes of the East, and it's the same story!

What Tribes are you talking about??? I'm afraid to disappoint you, but this seems to be a pirated copy as well...
As for the problem... try deleting absolutely everything related to Heroes 5, then clean the registry using some program (to make sure all traces are removed), and reinstall it. Make sure the path to the game doesn't contain folders with Russian characters (e.g., C:\Games\Hero5). Then, apply the latest patch (1.6 patch for the original game (it's best to install the cumulative patch right away), 2.1 for Hammers of Fate, 3.1 for Tribes of the East). Let me know how it goes.
P.S. My licensed version with patches continued to work without problems after I installed SP3.
I cleaned everything up, installed it on the system drive in the program files folder, removed any Cyrillic characters, and thoroughly checked the registry! This is a bug with Windows XP SP3, as the patches don't want to install, saying that the game is either not installed or installed incorrectly! I'll let you know the result after I install SP2 or SP3 Gamer Edition!
P.S. everything might also depend on the version, build, and type of Windows!

You won't disappoint him; he mentioned it himself in the third post%)
Alan Tribes of the East is a literal translation (Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Tribes of the East), but you are more familiar with it as Tribes of the East!

mmm, i.e., do you have an English license or did you somehow make the translation yourself?

Don't you think I said something about disappointment for no reason?
