What is your opinion on Russian rock and similar bands like: Korol i Shut, Kukryniksy, etc.?

I prefer Western music, although there are some good bands in Russia as well. As for the sound, domestic bands don't quite reach the level of world-class giants (like Metallica or Rammstein), but in other aspects, they can definitely compete (lyrics, melodies, and sometimes even the technical execution). The bands you mentioned are definitely not the worst in Russia, but they probably don't reach international standards either. Although, I remember that a band from Kishinev worked with a Rammstein producer at some point (I don't know what they're doing now) - and at that time, they sounded pretty good, even with a plus.

It's slightly more depressing than 95.85613%. The music is usually not very good, and the lyrics don't have anything special. Of course, there are exceptions everywhere...

I love Russian rock; I like Western rock less, but that's because it's harder to understand what they're singing about. You have to listen carefully and think about the translation, whereas with Russian rock, everything is clear. But first and foremost, for me, Russian rock means Kipelov, Aria, and DDT. With other bands, I only like individual songs, but with these three, I like almost everything.

Brr... I can’t stand Russian music; the quality of performance, the music itself, and the lyrics are nowhere near world-class, in my opinion. That’s why Russian music isn’t needed by anyone except Russians themselves. Is there REALLY that much plagiarism? I don't notice it...
Where is there a lot of plagiarism? There's very little plagiarism; you can list it all on your fingers.
And even then, plagiarism is only found in those groups that are trying by all means to gain more fans and don't even shy away from plagiarism. And maybe in some places, "plagiarism" is just a melody inspired by their favorite musicians.

I can hardly imagine my playlist without songs by Aria and Kino. I enjoy listening to Lumen, some songs by DDT, and Nautilus Pompilius. I'm mostly indifferent to the rest, either because I haven't listened to them or because I simply don't care for them. Or maybe I just don't remember them. I listen to what I like, regardless of the language it's sung in.

Well, Aria and Kipelov shouldn't be considered part of Russian rock. It's heavy music, and it's better not to lump them together. They actually reach a world-class level. These are two bands from Russia that are definitely known outside of it. This is confirmed by my personal experience. Moreover, the fact that they perform with bands like Rage speaks for itself.
In general, Russian rock is very boring and monotonous; you should only take a few bands into account – Kino (although it's already incredibly tiresome), DDT (these guys are cool), Nautilus (no comment). The rest are not "true." Kukryniksy are so-so – not repulsive, but I definitely wouldn't add them to my playlist.
Regarding KISH and Rammstein, it's quite possible that they were planning a joint project – two stupid bands playing stupid music with meaningless lyrics, pure commerce. They suit each other. In my opinion, KISH is one of the most shameful phenomena for the domestic scene. I'm not even talking about the fact that all subcultures disown them (punks say they're not their guys, rockers say the same). We need more quality bands that play something different than what they always play (in Russia, they only make power and heavy metal), but new, in-demand styles. Maybe then Russian music will stop causing such prejudice.

Given that Aria has a plethora of songs that are "borrowed" in the most delightful way, yes, they should be known there...

Meaningless lyrics? In KISH? If we're talking about commerce, KISH is simply looking with fierce envy at Aria, Kipolov, Rage, and others in the same vein. There's no point in talking about meaningfulness in vain ;)

Punks? Who? Purghen? :rolleyes: Punks who have something to say have no animosity towards KISH. Like Purghen. But those who, in every other line of an interview with some trendy magazine, remind everyone that they are "punks," yes, KISH is simply their favorite target :)

I'm listening to some Russian rock: Kipelov, DDT, Kino, Bi-2, Nautilus, Alisa) I listen depending on my mood...and unfortunately, not very often lately...I've switched to other types of rock...But Kipelov has always been, is, and will be in my playlist)):o
Regarding the meaninglessness of the lyrics)) yes, there are some instances...BUT I don't remember any songs by Kipelov, DDT, or Kino where it's difficult to understand the meaning! There's meaning in every song! :smile01: :smile01: In general, IMHO!!!:smile08:

I don't listen to Russian rock very often, except for КиШ and sometimes Кипелов.
