Let's discuss the results of the groups. On one hand, Group A wasn't surprising, as Oxygen and Lu41k made it through, but on the other hand, I didn't expect OptiMAL to bounce back after the first game, and Oggy put up such a strong fight. In this group, Lu41k impressed the most, playing on par with the experienced Oxygen. In Group B, I've felt sorry for the true Heroes IV gamer, Pacobac, for the past 2 months. He really wanted to play more matches in the tournament, but he could only convince 2 people to play. Pacobac easily won both of his matches and advanced in first place – that's what was expected. Out of 30 possible games, only 2 were played – that's disappointing… Group C, whose results I was most looking forward to, also didn't show much activity. For some reason, Lord TS only played one game, DramaticSilent was eagerly awaiting the tournament but only played two matches… and the excellent player Lolox didn't manage to play a single game. It was very interesting to see how the two young players, LeSHiJ-MaX and jel, who were quickly learning the online game, would play against each other. In Group C, jel won, but the semi-final LeSHiJ-MaX vs. jel is still ahead. In Group D, ZYbr surprisingly lost two battles out of two. There were no other matches in the group… that's sad. Brennus's advancement wasn't unexpected, but I'd like to congratulate ARIANUS on making it to the 1/8 selection round. In Group E, very strong players gathered, and no matter how much I waited for the cells in this group to be filled, I didn't see anything other than ANL's victory. Congratulations to ANL on advancing. Unfortunately, this group has the lowest activity… Gagatek in Group F showed what a professional is – if you want to play, you'll always find an opponent. Out of 5 group matches, 4 are Gagatek's, and he won all 4. Bravo! I also congratulate Kolich on advancing from the group. In Group G, there are two good pieces of news – joseywales defeating m8mat and the good performance of the newcomer LordaZezuk. Otherwise, the group played evenly and without any surprises. It's a pity that Argonavt couldn't play his matches in Group H, but overall, nothing surprising happened. I congratulate Commandant on his well-deserved 1st place, and I will rest up to prepare for the match against ARIANUS in the 1/8 selection round. In Group I, Shnurov set the pace, finishing his games faster than anyone else and scoring 5 points out of 5 possible. I think that Dragjen unexpectedly scored 4 points here and advanced from 2nd place! My congratulations! I think that Dragjen can already be considered the discovery of the tournament :) In Group J, the most experienced players gathered, and it's a pity that L@R$$ON couldn't score any points in the games. Hadrian and Druidasd are showing excellent results, and even the veteran pashagreen is only in 3rd place. This is a tight group with 14 completed battles, which is very pleasing :) I congratulate the group leaders on successfully completing the group tournament, and the other participants on the experience they gained :) Good luck to everyone in the upcoming battles :)

I'd like to add something personally! I'm very glad that we have new rising stars :smile01: First of all, as CTPAHHuK said, Dragjen is the discovery of the tournament; he really impressed with his good play and is improving from game to game :smile20: Keep it up, Dragjen! :smile12:
Then I would like to note our rising, emerging star L@R$$ON - although he hasn't quite mastered everything yet, he is eager to learn and persistently strives to play better! Which is very pleasing! And most importantly, he is not afraid of failures and losses! Which means he has every chance of becoming one of the best :) I can say the same about BigAke! I used to know him as an offline player and was pleasantly surprised by his desire to play online! I hope he doesn't lose it ;)

Regarding the World Championship:
I am grateful to him (and all the organizers) primarily for the experience gained, as well as for the new friends I continue to communicate with to this day!
Of course, I was disappointed by the dismissive attitude of some individuals towards the Championship. People did not appreciate all the efforts made by the organizers (I know firsthand that the efforts were truly enormous)... Well, what can you do, God will be their judge in the end! Their reputation has already been tarnished :mad:

I don't believe that you constantly lack the strength and time to continue this event! So, all 1/8 matches must be played by December 7, 2008 inclusive!

Games that have been started but not finished will be decided by the judges on the morning of December 8th, Moscow time. Unstarted games will be reviewed by the judging panel, and a decision will be made to disqualify one or both players.
The judging panel will make decisions based on the players' activity in the topic (and, of course, based on their actual performance). That is, you can agree on anything, but if you agreed on a game on December 7th via ICQ without posting anything in the topic, and your opponent was ready to meet you at any time, then don't be upset. You will be disqualified, even if he doesn't show up for the game on December 7th.
If you cannot agree on a time with your opponent, or your opponent does not appear on the forum, or there are any other difficulties with "connecting," write in this very new topic.

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen! We have finally waited for this momentous and happy event for all of us! Late tonight, the World Champion in Heroes IV on-line! was determined.

We watched with trepidation the progress of the decisive match CTPAHHuK vs m8mat, believed, hoped, and waited for victory, and cheered with trembling knees for CTPAHHuK! The fight was not easy and kept us in suspense until the very last minute! Lady Luck was very capricious! But the strongest and most worthy wins! And he won!
He went through all the thorns and plucked a star from the sky! :smile20:

And now I can happily announce that our esteemed CTPAHHuK has become the World Champion! :smile49:
m8mat is a strong and incredibly lucky opponent, but CTPAHHuK was stronger, and although luck did not favor him, he took everything into his own hands and caught the Firebird by the tail!
