Прошу прощения у Arandor-а. Я слишком резко отреагировал. Просто очень люблю спорт. Извини...[/SIZE]
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
Great, because it's not interesting with them...
Why isn't level 8 interesting? I think it's very interesting. And in general, the more levels, the more interesting it is.
Docent Picolan has already made quite a few authoritative statements. He will be responsible for his words and promises; time will tell what lies behind them. But some points were presented in a not entirely accurate light or given the wrong names.
First of all, WoG is an implemented technical platform with a set of tools, with which (like ERM) you can create a large number of modifications, play with parameters, manage game resources, etc. And everything else is just a set of various gadgets created by different skilled people on the WoG platform.
So, no matter how Docent Picolan wants to position HotA separately, while at the same time criticizing WoG for the sake of persuasiveness for "imbalance" and other grave crimes against the homeland, the roots of his creation lie in WoG itself.
And regarding the new language. Yes, in version 3.59 we planned a new scripting language - Lua. Scripting in it provides an order of magnitude more flexibility and capabilities, and also increases the convenience of work (there is a built-in debugger, etc.).
Lua does not replace ERM. It is based on it. It is like a more functional superstructure on ERM. But interaction with the executable file and SoD resources is still carried out using ERM commands.
Some time ago, this language was already implemented by one of the programmers of the KorWoG team, and is currently being tested and scripts are being written.
When it becomes available, HotA will most likely switch to it, because the advantages are obvious.
And that's right, I personally want to see an addon for SoD, not a mod for WoG.
(It's unbelievable what can be done in such a short time... they're moving mountains)
Docent Picolan,I might be interfering where I shouldn't, but I think it's worth respecting colleagues...
Whether it's interesting or not is a matter of personal opinion.
Actually, it's not just about the imbalance. There won't be an 8th level in HotA because the developers are trying to minimize the similarities with WOG.
And that's a good thing. Personally, I want to see an expansion for SoD, not a mod for WOG.
The point isn't whether there will be an eighth level or not, or whether it will resemble Heroes of Might and Magic or not. From my point of view, let it be similar to hockey; the main thing is that it should be interesting. If Heroes of Might and Magic were in 3D, I would even quit my job just to play it.
Well... if we don't talk about the graphical implementation, then the eighth level is primarily about imbalance. Some players like it, but for multiplayer, it's definitely unacceptable... (one player upgrades, say, 25 archangels to some super-duper archangels, and that's it - the stack becomes exactly twice as strong, which means there are 50 angels - quite a bonus, to say the least :) )
If you reason like that, then even upgraded Gremlins can be considered an imbalance, if the other player hasn't had time to upgrade them.
Vog is not even a game, by the way.
It's just a group of enthusiasts who, "just for fun," threw a bunch of unrelated things into the game.
Still, no matter what you say, it will be difficult to attract new people to Heroes of Might and Magic III. It's all about the graphics. Fans of the game will, of course, keep playing, but new players need 3D graphics. Even though you have great ideas and excellent castles, this will only slightly extend the game's lifespan (I think until the release of "Heroes 6," which simply must have sea creatures and castles).
And there are many fans of the original third game who play it not because of the graphics.
And there are many people whose computers can't handle super-high-quality graphics (like mine).
Are you suggesting making a 3D version of the third game? :D
