Docent Picolan has already made quite a few authoritative statements. He will be responsible for his words and promises; time will tell what lies behind them. But some points were presented in a not entirely accurate light or given the wrong names.
First of all, WoG is an implemented technical platform with a set of tools, with which (like ERM) you can create a large number of modifications, play with parameters, manage game resources, etc. And everything else is just a set of various gadgets created by different skilled people on the WoG platform.
we are not using it in HotA - all parameters, innovations, etc. are embedded directly into the game code, without using the ERM language. this proves that the addon fits perfectly with the original SoD 3.2, which does not have any ERM.
therefore, your statement that HotA is a kind of mod based on WoG is fundamentally wrong, even more - absurd.
So, no matter how Docent Picolan wants to position HotA separately, while at the same time criticizing WoG for the sake of persuasiveness for "imbalance" and other grave crimes against the homeland, the roots of his creation lie in WoG itself.
And regarding the new language. Yes, in version 3.59 we planned a new scripting language - Lua. Scripting in it provides an order of magnitude more flexibility and capabilities, and also increases the convenience of work (there is a built-in debugger, etc.).
Lua does not replace ERM. It is based on it. It is like a more functional superstructure on ERM. But interaction with the executable file and SoD resources is still carried out using ERM commands.
Some time ago, this language was already implemented by one of the programmers of the KorWoG team, and is currently being tested and scripts are being written.
When it becomes available, HotA will most likely switch to it, because the advantages are obvious.

And that's right, I personally want to see an addon for SoD, not a mod for WoG.
