The movie "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" is a film that doesn't need a sequel. There are also films where only the director who created the original should make sequels. But most importantly, the cast should never be changed. The creators of "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" didn't even consider these truths; they just gave the green light to the third installment. "I've already made my Mummy movies," is how Stephen Sommers reacted when asked to direct this one as well. Well, those are golden words.
Let's be honest, after watching the decent trailers, it was already clear that "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" would be different, and we were prepared for that. But what we got in the end is not just a different film; it's a parody of the first films. Rob Cohen simply took and destroyed the atmosphere, the "magic" that sparkled in Sommers' films. The previous films were primarily adventures, with attributes such as quality action, humor, and amazing acting. And that's not even mentioning the excellent plot. "The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" is completely devoid of all of this. The only exceptions are action and humor. And even then, there's much less of the latter here than in the previous films, and the funniest jokes were spoiled in the commercials.
I can guess that the film is :smile18: (Don't be offended) But I won't say it directly; I'll find somewhere to watch it, and then I'll vote :)
It's a decent movie, but it pales in comparison to the previous ones. However, it's a good choice for a summer watch when you have plenty of free time. The film has humor, and some moments are quite amusing. The change in theme to Egypt is a debatable point... Although, I think it's a good move. Conclusion: it's worth watching, but not necessarily a must-see. And one more thing: the film is great as a standalone, but it didn't particularly impress fans as the third part of the trilogy.

I don't really like it. It feels nonsensical, like they're either trying to make a comedy or they're just like that... And the Dragon looks like cardboard... and the grass is paler, and the trees are shorter... :)
I largely agree with the license provided by Revan, and I'll add my own points:
1) The film is filled with a lot of nonsense: a precious stone that turns into liquid, a source of eternal life, the emperor's transformations, already TWO INVINCIBLE armies, and the emperor himself, who, out of all four elements, actively used only cold and fire. (They should have given him either transformations or elements, but they crammed both in, and he didn't really use either effectively; it's like in Heroes of Might and Magic, when a hero has many different schools of magic with useful spells, but there are so many that he doesn't even have time to cast half of them.)
2) The plot jumps around too much, creating a feeling of compression.
3) The Mummy looked weak. With the abilities they gave her, everything should have been different, at least more challenging for the heroes.
4) Why did they put snow people in the film? O_O
5) In the end, the Mummy is killed in a very banal way. After a banal phrase addressed to the emperor about the fairness of the fight, he beat Connor so badly in hand-to-hand combat that he shouldn't have had any chance of winning, but...
In general, the film turned out to be a typical Hollywood blockbuster – stupid, primitive, but with flashy special effects, and even Ricochet and Connor, along with Phoebe's brother, don't save the film with the colorfulness of their characters.

Personally, at first, the film seemed quite dull to me. In my humble opinion, the books about mummies, phrases like "I've killed so many mummies, you wouldn't believe it," "I'm used to dealing with mummies," and so on – are the cheapest boast imaginable. And somehow, everything started too quickly; less than ten minutes had passed, and they were already running around Chinatown.
But then, when they went into the mountains, my opinion improved. After all, there aren't many mountains and snow in our turbulent times, and I happen to love them.
Although, of course, this doesn't really affect the plot.
In general, it really does feel like they crammed everything in at the last minute.
However, it's a decent film, in my opinion. They could have made it better, but they could have also made it much worse, couldn't they?
The first and second parts are better. The third film is missing something; perhaps the plot wasn't strong enough, or it could have been made better overall. It's a shame that they cast a different, rather unattractive actress for the role of Ivy. The previous actress was much better and more familiar.
I watched the movie in the cinema, around the same time I went with Major. It's certainly not a mega-blockbuster, but I wouldn't call it complete trash either. It's just a movie; the first parts might have been better, but this one fulfills its purely entertaining purpose quite well. There was even some humor that fit the context, and I liked the effects.
