This is a perfectly logical and reasonable suggestion. Some points from the regulations remind me of the age of dinosaurs. We are here trying to determine the strongest player, not the luckiest one who happened to choose the best castles by "pointing at the sky." If we wait for everyone to respond, the New Year will arrive before we even play a qualifying match. I want to note that last season, this was exactly the method used to choose castles.

That’s exactly what we did. First, we chose the map, and then the factions. IMHO, this is a better and more convenient approach.

In the previous season, we chose castles randomly, and I would prefer if this rule remained. A successful random castle selection is unlikely, but getting two castles after a quick start that are completely unsuitable for the map is very likely.

I really liked the first game; there were no resources, equal opportunities, and, most importantly, only two Castles, so there was no need to rush. In the first game, 2 heroes))) 1, 2, 3, 6 in the stronghold. In the second, I fought for money, built a Capitol. Then I went to collect what was tastier, killed a weak red player, but this weak player had 32 archers. Well, I thought it was time to attack. I went to the left - along my swamp. I took an artifact that gives +2 attack and defense through the forest, and then, 4 squares away from me, Orrin was with his whole crew. Luckily, I was already gaining momentum, and I had some nice gloves, so I won the race to my stronghold. There, I built everything I could for defense, sold everything, but I was still short on money for half the troops. On turn 211, the red player attacks. I was very worried about the 20+ monks (there were 23), 100+ archers (108), and 50+ crusaders (53). But I had towers behind me, and also fast Dragonflies, which periodically weakened and blocked the archers. In general, the enemy retreated, and I had 37 lizards, 9 vipers, 50 gnolls + some smaller units + reinforcements left.
