9) faction draft: Conflux is excluded (however, if you happen to get Conflux in the game, you can play it, with the exception of building the University and upgrading creatures of levels 1, 6, and 7). This leaves 8 factions, and each player gets to choose which city they will play in a particular game, but with the condition that you can only play one faction once per season. (The city draft in additional games is conducted according to the "traditional scheme," i.e., participants take turns (starting with the red player) naming the cities they would not like to play, and in the end, the players choose a city from the remaining 3 cities to play.
