Luckily, I was already gaining momentum, and I had some nice gloves, so I won the race to my stronghold. There, I built everything I could for defense, sold everything, but I was still short on money for half the troops. On turn 211, the red player attacks. I was very worried about the 20+ monks (there were 23), 100+ archers (108), and 50+ crusaders (53). But I had towers behind me, and also fast Dragonflies, which periodically weakened and blocked the archers. In general, the enemy retreated, and I had 37 lizards, 9 vipers, 50 gnolls + some smaller units + reinforcements left.
