Here, you can confidently list almost the entire 10th-grade curriculum. I rarely finished reading anything, often relying on summaries.

By the way, I started reading "The Duel" by Kuprin. It's interesting, but difficult to read. It raises the problem of the army, including a description of hazing at that time.

Hello everyone! I'm a big fan of fantasy (especially when it's something I come up with myself), but out of all the books I've read, the best ones are: "Witch World" and "Elfblood" by Andre Norton, and "The Hobbit" by one of the most famous fantasy writers (for those who didn't get it), Tolkien. I also read "The Chronicles of Narnia," but starting with "Prince Caspian," the author started to lose it. He would have been better off finishing "The Horse and His Boy," although "Prince Caspian" is still somewhat forgivable, but "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" or "The Silver Chair" are just complete nonsense.

For me personally, Tolkien is like Marinina compared to Agatha Christie, Simeon, or Poe... I only know one thing about Tolkien - his only work is "The Lord of the Rings" - he's not remarkable to me in any other way. Fantasy is undoubtedly more related to the "Heroes" theme, but it's just a section of science fiction, a separate branch of it :) But still, I don't understand how you can read fantasy if you've discovered science fiction...

#3754377: we definitely won't stay in one place - fantasy is a good genre, but the number of good works I've read is much less than the number of unsuccessful and uninteresting ones, all reduced to one idea, written as if according to the same template. in science fiction, it's the opposite :) and in general, truth is born in a dispute - I'm not saying that my opinion is the only correct one, I'm just saying that in my opinion... and so on :)

By the way, "The Hobbit" is a prequel to "The Lord of the Rings." It's the story of Bilbo Baggins, where it tells about his acquaintance with Gandalf, how he got the ring by cleverly stealing it from Gollum, and so on. If you want to understand it better, read it, because it's also a large part of "The Lord of the Rings."

I want to note that regardless of the genre (personally, I like science fiction, fantasy, detective stories, historical novels... and even, recently, poetry), I, as a reader, evaluate the actions, experiences, and thoughts of the characters, as well as the author's writing style. After all, when you read, you also empathize with the events together with the heroes... Sometimes, depending on your mood, thoughts from a book resonate very strongly and stick with you (especially poetry). After all, sometimes you ask yourself - how would you act in a specific situation (from the book)... A book can both raise life questions and provide answers to them. I can manage to read different books... but I still couldn't finish reading Dondova. And usually, it's the other way around, when you reread something after some time... and you find something new for yourself.
Oh, right now I'm reading the book "Ronan the Barbarian" by James Bibb. It's not just a book, it's full of funny moments:D, it's not just a parody of Conan, it's also a simply interesting book:D.
I decided to read Dostoevsky's "The Brothers Karamazov." I'm reading it, but it's written in a complex language :D, it feels like Yoda is narrating :confused: :rolleyes: :D
I, on the other hand, don't read the synopsis before reading – it's more interesting that way. And after, you can read what was written about it in the preface...

I recently started reading "Valkyrie," but I couldn't finish it, even though I liked the book... I just got distracted, and then I didn't have time for it anymore. I really love both fantasy and sci-fi. My favorite authors are Semyonova and Lukyanenko, respectively. But Tolkien has become tiresome; I read "The Lord of the Rings" about 8 years ago and reread it about 10 times, and now I can't stand to look at it.
Everything needs to be done in moderation. I've read "The Lord of the Rings" three times and "The Silmarillion" a couple of times, and I'm still a fan of the series. :)
Recently, I read "Dune." It's something else. Now I'm thinking about reading the sequel. I also read "Labyrinth of Reflections." It's very good, especially considering it was written in 1996.
