Let me tell you—just close this thread entirely. The dogma of ХВ is SoD (calling things by their real names). Let it stay that way. In this thread, 90% of those supporting SoD have never played TE and have a very vague understanding of its essence. And they don't want to understand. Conservatives. That's normal. Why am I for TE? The first online match I ever played, which was also a tournament, was on TE. Of course, it felt unusual after SoD, but I adapted faster because of it. And if I hadn't accidentally stumbled upon that tournament and Quaker and AndreyALN—I too would be foaming at the mouth trying to prove how cool SoD is, for which I owe them a huge thank you =)
That thing is more stable than WoG, but not as stable as SoD or Complete.
Regarding the TE patch, it's almost the same as SOD.
TE was created by a group of enthusiasts who spent thousands of hours of their time on it, completely selflessly.
Naturally, besides fixing bugs, they also wanted to eliminate many other things that seemed unbalanced, almost "buggy." This is because, among other things, some members of the development team were also among the best Heroes 3 players in the world.
Here's an example of something that seemed almost "buggy":
- The Eagle Eye skill. How many people voluntarily took it in all their online games? (In TE, it was added to classes and became useful, so people started taking it. Plus, Eagle Eye is the only way to get Scouting.)
- Diplomacy. All the rules prohibit enlisting monsters. So, what's the point of this property?
- Navigation. The entire online community plays without water maps. How many people were forced to take it and were very upset about it in SOD?
And much more.
Can you name even one change that leads to imbalance rather than balance?
And after that, will the TE team spend hundreds of hours to revert back? Unlikely.
By the way, let's not forget that this titanic work – Heroes 3 TE – is available for free on the internet, and everyone can download it completely free!
P.S. If you disable everything possible in TE, it will be very similar to SOD. A few pleasant changes (such as equal armies at the start) don't seem like a departure from SOD. (Such distributions also existed in SOD, but very rarely). The biggest and most fundamental difference is experience and tax. Many people don't play with them. Entire Tournaments were and are held without experience and tax.

You guys are doing a great job, no one can argue with that!
Remove the new graphics; it's unbearable to look at.
The opinion of leading players is not the absolute truth (someone gave the example of football players). In the offline version, all these changes are not so critical.
Yes, TE is an online game, but you could create an offline TE version that retains as much as possible from SoD, leaving the offline aspects of TE intact. And the graphics need to be removed and replaced with the ones from SoD.
In offline mode I'd rather play SoD, because all these classes only ruin the experience,
All classes can be disabled. In the TE ini file in the data folder, you need to put a zero next to the class and it won't be in the game. That is, we set everything to zeros and roll with it.

What graphics are we talking about? The only difference is the twitching trees. One little file in the data pack weighing 10 kb and that will be gone. It's posted on the League.

So, are there people who consider Keen Sight, Navi, Mysticism, for example, from SoD to be normal usable stuff?

To Forrest: In my opinion: The real issue isn't whether TE or SOD is better. Let's assume TE is better than SOD (which is probably true). The question is about a well-thought-out strategy for successfully implementing the better option when there's already something acceptable. Here, the way it's presented and marketed becomes crucial. (I've already given the example of IE and Netscape; you could also add 1C, where competent management and marketing played a decisive role in its success). From this perspective, the availability of a "SOD-version" of TE, along with ease and simplicity for initial familiarization and use, becomes critical for successful implementation. Forcing all options into a package, following the principle of "buy everything at once or nothing," is counterproductive and doesn't contribute to accelerating the implementation process. End of my opinion. P.S. I'm a fan of this great game and sincerely want it to improve and for players to have a more convenient and interesting experience!
What kind of graphics are you talking about? The only difference is the flickering trees. One file in the data pack, weighing 10 KB, and this won't happen. It's available on the Dungeon forums.
What about the resource icons? I'm not entirely sure, but if the graphics differ from SoD only in the trees, then I take back my words. Forrest;194520
So, are there people who think that sharpness, Naavu, and mysticism, for example, are normal and usable in SoD?
If they were supposed to be stronger, they would be stronger in SoD, just as if the portal was supposed to be on fire.
As I understand it, this is navigation. Then this skill is indispensable; it's power, strength, and might – a very strong skill on water and semi-water maps.
keen eye
I was playing some campaign, and it was impossible to play without this skill.
mysticism
It's the same as the previous one; in that campaign, it's simply necessary because the hero is a mage who starts without spells, and there are few wells and they are far from the castle.

in online games, there's no need for water keen eyesight is very useful on specific maps when there's little magic, mysticism can be helpful, for example, for a Barbarian.
Man, why argue about what's better? Everyone plays whatever they want. I have SoD, VoG, TE! I play SoD offline, but for online, TE is still better... It' same no wonder many top players play TE instead of SoD; they probably know best what's better, and those who complete campaigns or just play for fun shouldn't care at all, and such people don't even need TE... I specifically signed up for a TE tournament to play against Vic, and I'd be happy to play with many other TE players!

Who did that? And who sold it? :)

Exactly! Close this thread, as well as the one in your signature.
There are several versions of HOMM3 Yes, SoD is played here, but that is no reason to close all threads about other add-ons. This thread fits the specifics of HW; it's not "flamey"—neither its title nor its meaning makes it so, but rather how you treat it. I do not intend to delete or close anything here except for flame and off-topic posts.
1) In the buggy online game, you can see everything about your opponent: - how many castles they have, what their income is in those castles, what kind of castles they are, and what resources are in those castles!!!!!
I know the first and second points; can you tell me how to find out the third and fourth?
I won't stoop to naming names (or rise to it, perhaps :)). I just want to share my personal impression – in many topics (and I've read almost all of them) where the subject was directly or indirectly related to TE (whether it's about implementing it, comparing it, or something else) on this forum, the initial, perhaps somewhat hesitant interest (yes, we're not in a hurry) was often replaced by open hostility (like, you're a noob if you don't want TE), which in turn led to a justified, aggressive reaction. P.S. I wasn't referring to the person in question, and I strongly disagree with the comment made to him.
