Hmm... well, I also have Opera installed, and everything works perfectly! So, it's definitely not Opera. Although, maybe it's an outdated version? Have you updated it recently? I checked Explorer, and everything works fine there too...
It's the Hammers of Fate skin... and I can increase the database level without any problems. I really don't know how to help you. I'll go experiment with the styles now.

Luchik, thank you, it seems that everything started working because of the change in the operating system. Otherwise, I would have continued using the old version.

I voted for option 1; it appeals to me more. Besides, in the second option, you get a bird against a white square, which doesn't look very good. Although, if you make that square transparent, it could look quite nice. But still, option 1 is much more appealing and I'm already used to it. I don't see much point in changing anything! The database is working, and now everyone can see everything, which is great! By the way, yesterday I was experimenting with styles (and honestly, I got tired of it) and I came to a conclusion! Personally, everything works fine for me in Opera and IE (I can't check Mozilla). The only thing I noticed is that when using the Dvarves 1 skin, the comments indicator is displayed terribly: pale blue and white text on a white background – it's completely unreadable! I don't know if anyone uses this skin, but with this, it's definitely unusable, even though the black color of the skin itself looks quite stylish! This is probably the only drawback.

I also have the Hammers of Fate... it's pleasing to the eye and doesn't strain it.
In my opinion, it doesn't really matter what the battle map looks like; it's not that important. Although, the shadow effect might be annoying. It might end up being an eyesore.
