I would like to discuss the following:
Many fans of Heroes 3 have rather old computers, and they simply can't run the fifth installment. My situation is slightly different. I used to have a powerful computer, but due to circumstances, I don't have it anymore. However, during that time, I got very used to and fell in love with Heroes 5. I have an old computer. Heroes 3 runs smoothly, but I can't even launch Heroes 5. Is there a lightweight version of Heroes 5 available now? I mean, the underlying game engine is the same, with the same skills, magic, heroes, maps, but in 2D. Without unnecessary graphical enhancements. The main thing is that the essence of the game remains the same and that it is compatible for playing online with regular Heroes 5 players.
If this doesn't exist yet, shouldn't someone create it?

As far as I know, there is no such patch. And to implement such a large-scale idea, a lot of time, experienced programmers, and resources are needed.

I remember wanting to run H5 at home on a GeForce 4 MX 440 video card... so, due to the shaders, the game refused to run on it. Out of curiosity, I decided to search the internet for a patch that would completely remove these shaders... And to my surprise, I found one! And the game ran without any problems! (I was so happy :D). There was only one issue... The interiors of the Sylvan and Academy cities were displayed incorrectly. In the Academy, everything was brown, and in the Sylvan - completely black... But the essence remained... :D

So, I think that some similar patch can be found on the internet... or, if not, I think there is still a point in creating it.

As far as I know, there is no such patch... And to implement such a large-scale idea, you need a lot of time, experienced programmers, and resources.

Everyone has little time, but you can spend a little of your personal time on something you love.
I am a programmer myself.
If there is no such software product, I am looking for like-minded programmers to implement it based on open-source code.

First of all, please tell me what shaders are, and secondly, give me that patch, PLEASE!:smile41:

A shader is a special program that uses specific programmable registers of the video card to create various graphical effects (such as shadows)...

As for the patch, there are some problems... I don't need it anymore. I simply upgraded my hardware a long time ago :D ... and I don't remember where I downloaded it, but I think you can find it yourself if you want. ;)

Here, you can't really choose; either your heroes work, or they don't, but you need a computer that's at least reasonably powerful.

Not powerful enough? Are you kidding? :) Yes, at the time of the original release, a powerful computer was indeed required. Today, a graphics card for 1000-2000 rubles, a processor of the same price, and 2 GB of inexpensive RAM will be enough to enjoy the game and forget about lag, even if not on the highest settings. A graphics card for 3000+ rubles will allow you to play without any difficulties. Lag occurs when raising the camera too high, and also in the map editor, but this is noticeable even on top-end graphics cards, albeit to a lesser extent.
