I would actually play that map too, by the way – it’s intriguing, but my disc has been borrowed by someone, and unfortunately, I’ve forgotten who exactly.
And if we talk about the 4th game... Of course, in the 4th game, the Hero plays a significant role!
And that's a good thing, because he finally started doing his direct duties, namely fighting, and not just carrying reinforcements and capturing everything in sight! Now there are units and armies that move on their own, which is quite natural! You don't need a commander to bring reinforcements!
In the previous parts, and even in the 5th, Heroes were needed for this – you buy several Heroes just to carry the army, and collect artifacts and resources: they are good soldiers, I must say! Well, in the 5th game, they at least fight on their own now :) And people say that the 4th game is bad, but many things from the 4th game were transferred to the 5th :) And the fact that Heroes can fight on the battlefield and caravans were finally added! Which is very correct, you don't have to run around dwellings and collect units))
It turns out that if a Hero is not a Mage, then he has nothing to do in battle... To strengthen the army? Well, you could just as easily attach artifacts to the units, increasing their power and providing protection, etc... The Hero is of no use in battle, he just stands there like an outside observer! :)
So, about the Hero in the 4th game ))
The Hero can be developed in different ways :) You can make him a Warrior, a Mage, a Tactician, and the huge number of possible classes hasn't been canceled :) The development and the strategy itself depend on many things: on which Castle you are playing, against which, and most importantly, on the map! Especially in online mode! There are maps where a Warrior and a fast unit are enough, there are maps where it is better to play as a Mage, and there are maps where a Tactician is needed, because the map is played not only by Heroes, but also by a mandatory army! And here, whoever is better at tactics will win! And everything is important here! The arrangement of troops, the troops themselves, the development of the Heroes, what artifacts they have and how they are equipped, what spells the Hero(es) have and how he uses them, and even the terrain is important, and all sorts of potions are very helpful! In the 4th Heroes, there are many possible scenarios!
Imagine this situation... In the 3rd game, for example, a super-developed Hero goes, but with only one unit (it doesn't matter where he goes, maybe he's going for a lying artifact)... And then an enemy army appears (a weak army), and kills him... Because the first turn was given to her, and the Hero didn't even have time to run away! And he has no one to fight with! Despite all his coolness! In the 4th game, this Hero would defeat the entire army, or at least cut them down significantly before running away!
And here's something else I like in the 4th Heroes and don't like in the 5th! It's the magic of each Castle! If it's a Castle of Nature, then you can learn all the available magic up to level 5 (something good will definitely be available), if not, go to another City of Nature (or a related one)! In the 5th game, this is not the case, you have to run around the cities a lot in search of spells... There are few of them in the 5th game... And in the 4th game, there are such good shops – they are called conservatories! You go there and buy the spells you need (you can buy them for growth), it's a pity there are none in the 5th game... (or did I miss something?)
And now, personally for you, Wendy :)
Not so long ago, we had the Olympic Games, and the second stage was held in the form of duels in the 5th Heroes! You are given a developed Hero with artifacts and an army (you can choose the race yourself), and he is opposed by another Hero with an army! It's like a tactical duel! Here you have armies, and not just pumping up! It was a very interesting stage, I must say :) If you want, play it, but it's better online, because it's not interesting with the computer))
And finally... I don't want to say that the 2nd, 3rd, or 5th Heroes are worse than the 4th )) Of course not! They all have their advantages and disadvantages! But the 4th game is more interesting for me personally! You can learn to play it for a very long time and constantly discover something new! Something to combine, to go through in different ways! The strategy in the 4th game is diverse :)
In general, I love the 4th Heroes :) And I won't hide it :)
P.S. Sorry for the many words :) Something made me want to write today )))))
