Hi, I'm Gondar, and I've completed this mission. I suggest building elven buildings instead of Inferno buildings, while simultaneously gathering resources, as you have limited funds for building. Gather as many warriors as possible, and when you see Gilraen, try not to fight him but instead head northeast to the elven town. Capture it, trying to lose as few warriors as possible, and Gilraen will definitely come to retake the town. But at that point, it's up to you.

You find obelisks, but not necessarily all of them (I've never found all the obelisks). You orient yourself using the landmarks on the revealed map (stones, roads, etc.). You find that location on the "real" map, stand there, and dig at the beginning of your turn. If you're nearby, they'll tell you, "It's somewhere to the north, south, etc." If you're too far away, they'll say, "It's not here."
