I first played it when I was 10. I played with a classmate. He knew how to play (well, he was also a beginner), and he taught me, or rather, tried to. I was pretty clueless back then, to be honest. Anyway, I didn't really learn anything, but the game still sparked my interest. But I didn't continue playing it. I only picked it up again 3-5 years later with other friends, who, as I later found out, had been playing for a couple of years. They were already quite good at it. They started teaching me. The game immediately captivated me. I played, and I dreamed that when I got a computer, I would play it all day long. I really dreamed about it. And that's what happened. I got a computer, and I started playing it all day long.
When I played it for the first time, I don't remember which faction I chose. When I played with my friends, and they were teaching me, my first game and the subsequent ones were with Inferno. I played with them for a long time.

I remember when I was playing with Conflux, I tried to kill a bunch of efreets with a group of sprites, not realizing that they would kill them. I would lose my hero and hire them again, and then go back to them. It took me three tries to avoid them. I didn't build anything in the city. I just ran around the map and tried to kill someone. What can you do? It was my first game, and no one explained anything to me.
Now, if there's a vote for the best game somewhere, I'll only vote for Heroes.

Surprisingly, I started with the Castle in the tutorial mission.

I started playing Heroes with The Restoration of Erathia. It had just been released. I immediately started a single-player mission about the confrontation between good and evil, where the enemy is above ground with a Rampart, and you are underground with a Dungeon. I started messing around with the exits of one-way monoliths – I was very surprised back then that they didn't work. And I won that mission. There were some scrolls lying near the city, as far as I remember. And only later did I find out (while playing through the campaigns) that you can disable quick battles and was very surprised by the possibilities of this game. And I started playing as Dungeon. I also remember that after that, when I played as Castle, I didn't upgrade the knights because I liked their appearance more.

I first played the game in 2000. I visited a friend, and she was playing it at the time. I watched her play and asked if I could play with her. The map was called "Arrogance." 1. The castles and characters were random. I got Inferno and the character Nimue. I really enjoyed playing with this castle, even though it wasn't very strong at the beginning, and it was expensive and took a long time to build. I liked the character Nimue, even though she wasn't the strongest of the Inferno heroes, but I still play as her. About 4 years ago, I changed the avatars of some of the characters (if you're interested, I have a collection – you can change them all, or just some specific ones). 2. I won, which surprised me. 3. I remember the first clumsy battles, when I attacked a group of lizards with a couple of Cerberuses and a group of Imps, and the fact that I was able to defeat my more experienced friend. 4. I was surprised by how quickly the game hooked me.

I remember it being my first game on a computer. I had just bought it. It was 1999. :) I installed "The Restoration of Erathia," looked at it, and was about to delete it, but then I got hooked. I've been playing ever since. My acquaintance with the heroes began with the third game. The first time, I chose Tower. I liked the castle itself. (Later, I started playing as humans, but eventually, I switched back to Tower and have been playing as them ever since.) The first time, of course, I lost because I didn't know what to do. But I played for a very long time. The first lost battle was against Master Gremlins. There were about 300 of them, and I had 50 pikemen and two swordsmen. They crushed me :( Then I completely failed the game in every way. I remember how I won the game for the first time. How I managed to gather as many as FIVE cities :D and received the status of a royal (great) elf after the game. I thought I was a mega-player now :D What I like about the game is that with each playthrough, you discover something new. There is no limit to it. It is endless.

Funny, but I started playing when I was five, with Fortress, I think. :smile17: :smile13: Maybe I was six, I don't remember exactly, but I remember that it was right after it was released. :smile13: :smile13:

I don't remember how old I was when I started playing! But my first castle was the Tower. I actually played it for the first time at a friend's house, and he taught me how to play! But when I played it for the first time, it seemed like the best game ever! Now I don't play it very often anymore!

Let me tell you about the time I first saw Heroes 3.
I discovered what would become my all-time favorite game when my father (who was a huge fan of the series back then) started playing it. I was little (around 6 years old) and don't remember many details, but I still remember my dad's first battle.
He was up against one Gremlin, while he had about 20 upgraded Archers and Spearmen with Arbalests. :smile13:
For some reason, I remember that Gremlin for a long time as a "tightrope walker." I couldn't find it in the list of creatures and even came up with my own castle called "Colorado" and the funniest thing I remember from there is the level 3 units, which I nicknamed "hockey players," and they lived (believe it or not) in the... ALTAR OF BEL! :smile52:
And what surprised me the most was how my dad took down such a scary-looking monster with a single hit. :smile19:

I remember when I first got "Heroes Chronicles - Warriors of the Steppe". They told me that the missions were quite simple, and that once I learned how to play them, they would give me the other Heroes games. So, I diligently fought on the side of the Barbarians, and I even did quite well. I finished the game and asked for more! The first thing that surprised me was the knight, Lord Haart. At that time, I didn't know that there were other cities besides the Barbarian citadels, and I was very curious about where he came from with his pikemen.

And I keep reminiscing about Colorado. So far, I've also remembered that, of course, on level 1 there were tightrope walkers who lived, naturally, on a rope. :) And on level 4, the honorable masters of Colorado – Colorado beetles! :D

1. I chose the Stronghold as my first castle (I used to play Orcs in Warcraft, and my favorite Jotuns from the second game were no longer available; there were only giants). 2. It has non-drawn graphics and a lot of new features... the music is also excellent.

I first played the third installment in the summer of '99; before that, I had been playing the second game for about a year and a half. My parents went to their country house, and I threw a party. One of my friends brought "The Restoration of Erathia," but we didn't play it then – alcohol, rock and roll, and pretty girls took precedence. In the middle of the night, I got up to get a drink of water and remembered the third game. 1. I chose the Castle faction – I really liked the archangel on the cover. The hero was Loins. I don't remember the map, but I played several games in a row. The difficulty level was "Knight." 2. I won. 3. What surprised me most was when I heard a woman laughing. I looked away from the computer – the sun was shining outside, and I was sitting naked on a stool in front of the computer, while my classmate, wrapped in a sheet, was laughing hysterically. Nine years have passed, and I still can't stop playing Heroes. I play all the installments, except for the fourth.

I first heard about this game from my younger sister, who was playing it at a friend's house with her brother (their whole family plays Heroes). She was playing as the Tower faction. She came home and told me about it with great enthusiasm.
A couple of months later, I found a copy of The Shadow of Death somewhere. I sat down to play, and first, I went through the tutorial. Then, I started a single-player game. I chose Inferno (I like the color red), and the map was "Monk's Retreat." Of course, I didn't understand what was going on back then, so I hired a hero every day and sent him around the island in a circle so that he would visit the buildings! It was pointless, of course, as some buildings need to be visited once a week, and others only once per game. But now I'm smart:D. Back then, I didn't know. Anyway, I was easily defeated.:( I turned off the game and deleted it...
After some time, I reinstalled it because I was getting tired of other games, and my sister and I started a game on the same map. This time, I played as the Dungeon faction.:) Since then, I've only played as this Castle!:) And as Rampart and the Swamp. And in that game, we won. That's when I first encountered the Azure Dragons!:)

And my castle is CONFLUX. And I won in the game:smile49:

my first castle was Dungeon! Since the first Heroes game, I've had a love for dragons, and since the second, for black dragons! It's quite difficult to play on the Impossible level, as building a structure for "eyes" costs one of each resource, and on Impossible, everything is zero! But then I switched to Conflux.
