Along with the library???? Together with the spells you need, that is, Chaos and Dark. But what if there aren't the right castles on the map? It's a different matter that you can learn spells from neutral creatures. But, in my opinion, this isn't a good reason to specialize in two non-core magic schools.

Along with the library??????Along with those spells that you need, that is, Chaos and Dark. What if there are no castles with the required magic types on the map? It's a different matter that you can learn spells from neutral creatures. But in my opinion, this is not a reason to invest in 2 non-core magic types.
No, I meant that in any hostile town, there is likely to be a guild. Although, don't get me wrong, I believe that investing in more than one non-core magic type is not worth it for anyone.
Along with the library?????? Along with those castles that you need, meaning Chaos and Dungeon. But what if the necessary castles aren't on the map? It is a different matter that you can learn from neutrals. But imho this is not a reason to go for 2 non-profile magics.
You generally need to build up the guild first, and then level up the hero's magic. This is certainly difficult, but it will be more reliable for everyone. But one must not forget about Dragon Utopia, Hotabych, etc. Much will also depend on the map and luck...

In my opinion, a mage should primarily focus on upgrading the Summoning skill... and there's a higher chance of finding spells related to that magic in the guild. Relying on finding something on the map isn't a good strategy, although you might get lucky.
It's best to build the guild as early as possible, ideally up to level 3. But it's unlikely to be beneficial on the hero's skill set.
I don't understand why you'd take Darkness. It only seems useful against a Necromancer. Of course, your "Forgetfulness" spell is my favorite, plus Subjugate and Berserk... it's terrifying. Someone seems to want to turn a mage into a Necromancer:D. And you can do a lot with Chaos using the Wizard's Sign. For example, I played a duel with Oraz vs. Ravenna... we put the Wizard's Sign on the vampires or liches and cast Chain Lightning, and it was devastating. If you only have golems and tumblers left, there are no problems with Chain Lightning.
For maximum effect, you can also upgrade Luck + Lucky Sorcerer, then it will really be effective.
But still, it's better to stick to the standard: Summoning + Light, or just one of them (preferably Summoning).
Есть свет и тьма, Добро и зло, Есть сила и власть, И много всего Но знай ты одно, Что все это чушь, И лишь без любви Не проживешь ты и дня..
That's it... I'm fed up... The Ghost... Almost all of your tactics are based solely on luck... And on obtaining artifacts... Ring of Teleportation, Sandro's Cloak. SANDRO'S CLOAK IS A RELIC - THE CHANCE OF IT DROPPING IS VERY LOW. Luck affects many things... But you should base your strategy on the actual state of affairs... And not rely on two non-core magic types, hoping for the best.

So, I wrote that you need to build a guild first! Is that too much to ask? 2. I wrote that it will depend on the map, but I didn't mean that you should rely on it! If you mostly play on small maps, then I mostly play on large maps, and there, the Ring of the Magi is a very common artifact!
:smile02:Клан "Lost Heroes" - Заместитель лидера:smile02:
And Sandro's cloaks are as common as mushrooms after the rain... Although in HotS, nothing is rare... Even a guild is being built there, with strategies for the game planned in advance. That is, 6 levels have already passed, and we are still building a guild and thinking about whether we should go into 2 non-core magic schools, since we received a ring in the library at level 3... And it doesn't matter that all our resources have gone into the guild (and we are playing on at least Veteran difficulty, where there are only 5 gems), it doesn't matter what hero to start with if we can't even buy golems later.

I wouldn't deny that, but playing on a duel server, I was very surprised when my vampires were targeted with Mind Control, and the liches with Vampirism.
I would also be surprised if Vampirism was applied to liches. Almost as surprised as if Vampirism was applied to a supply cart :D :D
The development of a mage heavily depends on the hero you are playing. If it's Nurah, then Chaos with Mark is good. The strategy is very simple: take yellow golems, healing gremlins, and a wall of fire (if available, which isn't always the case), and go for it. The wall is placed, the golems run along it, healing, and Nurah finishes off the opponent in the meantime (100 Inquisitors or 100 Archmages in the second week, having only 35 golems – these are quite realistic plans that even the Necropolis can't handle). If you get a defense skill, you must take it, because for Nurah, defense is a rare stroke of luck, and the golems will become exceptionally durable. Then she can use Armageddon on black gargoyles, if the opponent survives the first attack, which shouldn't be delayed, otherwise the meat will grow and won't care about Chaos.
If it's Haffiz, then it's Light (it's best to forget about machines in the Mentor's week by the 4th week, because they will become irrelevant, of course, if this Mentor is available). Here you need to pray for BB (Blessed Blessing) and Claw. If you have at least one of these, then the gremlins will be stronger than everything combined, but this happens very rarely, so you shouldn't rely on it. For the final stage, equip the gremlins with triple artifacts (initiative, health, attack), cast mass haste and mass smite, and the gremlins will crush the enemy army completely. 600-700 gremlins in the sixth week with an initiative of 24, under smite, and with artifacts for attack, easily and effortlessly defeat even trained paladins.
Razazak is developed in defense (fortunately, he has it at the start) and in Light. After that, you can develop Summoning for the shield, if you see it on the fifth level. A hundred blue golems under a shield, equipped with Light and mini-artifacts for defense, health, and initiative, are death for all sorts of even-matched units like dwarves, orcs, or necropolises. But you need to understand that Razazak will be given a hard time by fast, relentless damage dealers – Dungeon, Inferno – they will simply nullify the defense of the golems and then eat them, or they will kill them before the hero has time to equip the golems with Light and a shield.
Narhiz is a separate topic and is exclusively about the Tournament Edition. Because there, Narhiz is a mechanic. I won't go into too much detail, a mechanic is a mechanic.
A separate word about Jalib. A completely useless hero for combat, but indispensable for the economy. He instantly gets "Luck of the Road" and takes 500 more coins from all chests. It's much easier to live with him.
Ora – it depends on the situation, anywhere. Either in Summoning, or in Dark Magic, or in Chaos. It all depends on the opponent's faction, the starting conditions, and the map.
That's how it is. I apologize for the length, but it's better this way than to have to chew on it for two pages. For fun, I'm attaching a combat replay of Nurah and 100 Archmages, second week.
In this faction, the strongest are: Archmages, Djinn Sultans, Rakshasa Princesses, and of course, the Colossus!
You shouldn't talk like that... Let's take Archmages as an example: in some cases, they are more useful (in small numbers), and in others, they are an alt-upgrade (if there are many of them). And based on your post, you can assume that Golems are weak, as well as everything else you didn't mention, but that's not true.
PS Valgala, wait an hour, and I'll tell you everything!.
Added 37 minutes ago Valgala, I'll explain everything to you step by step... I'll be late for the courses, but I won't leave everything like this. Where did it all begin?...
Forgetfulness is good, plus slowing down.
I apologize... I just happened to find a cloak when I was playing this map.
I played like this against Mephisto, and I just posted my build, I was leveling up to SA there, but in the end, (we had a lot of shops on the territory), we simply bought all the Relics, and I got Sandro's Cloak, I quickly got to Hotabych (which was also on the territory), on the way I captured the Castle of Info, and in Hotabych I redid everything and made my perks like this:
1) Education 2) Dark Mage (forgetfulness, mass slowing, weakening of darkness) just in case you find Sandro... 3) Sorcery (wisdom and something else - for magic resistance) 4) Luck (magic resistance and sorcery luck) 5) Chaos Mage
On the way back, I cleared out the neutrals and managed to build a guild, and I found Forgetfulness there, and there was slowing down in the capital... I came across Maxim's post on the same day we were playing, so without thinking, I posted my build, forgetting that I had changed it when I got the cloak.
As for "hoping for the best," I'm not a very lucky person in life:(, so I never rely on luck, neither in the game nor in life!!! You can ask anyone who knows me, even Shadara!!!
Even the guild is built there in advance, based on the strategy for the game.
And it doesn't matter that all our resources went to the guild.
There are almost no resource problems on random maps!!! And I don't build the guild first, don't draw such conclusions! I don't understand, did your imagination suggest something?... Anyway: I don't take a school until I build a guild... (of course, not to the end: up to level 3...) And I clear out the neutrals like that, without good magic, of course, it's not easy, but it's not fatal!!! And you're talking about some kind of "hoping for the best"... And I build the guild after the main buildings.
PS Valgala, tell me, what else haven't I answered... I'll tell you something else in ICQ, but I don't see you here right now...

And I think it's necessary to know the final build in advance, both before and during the game, and to strive for it (rather than improvising as you go). If I want to develop only 4 abilities, then there's no need to take a 5th, even if it becomes available. And I should max out those 4...
That's a misrepresentation of my words, not mine... I think the issue is now resolved. Because you're simply stubbornly defending your opinion, knowing full well that you never develop 2 non-core abilities.

Those are your words, not mine... I think the matter is settled now. Because you're just blindly defending your opinion, knowing perfectly well that 2 non-primary skills are never leveled.
Read my post above again; I wrote why I leveled 2 non-primary skills.. Or maybe I didn't... Anyway, I had Hotabych, I got Sandro's cloak, and I had enough Dr., dark Castles + Dragon Utopia: so why not change the Dr. skill to Dark Magic??? I took Chaos for reinforcement + I had CharMagic. So you're right, the matter is settled...

Sometimes, blindly following a pre-planned strategy can also be detrimental. For example, if you get Education for an Orc (2%), it's usually a good idea to take it, which means you need to adjust your build strategy. The same applies to the Academy with Leadership/Logistics. In short: exceptions are possible.
