Well, let's all cheer for Russia, Croatia, Ukraine, and Belarus (at least to show support)))
And let's watch the UEFA Cup today!!! Let's cheer and hope for our victory)):smile12:
And the fact that England won is better, otherwise we wouldn't be able to root for Croatia, which gave us EURO 2008. And it would be a pity for Ukraine too)))
Andrey, I would have been happy if Russia, England, and Croatia were in the same group, I would have even laughed... But considering the fact that Russia and England were drawn from the same pot, it was simply IMPOSSIBLE))) So, either Russia or England ))) And the fact that England was drawn is better, otherwise we wouldn't be able to cheer for Croatia, which gave us EURO 2008 ;) And it would be a pity for Ukraine)))

Прошу прощения у Arandor-а. Я слишком резко отреагировал. Просто очень люблю спорт. Извини...[/SIZE]

Russia's match schedule:
Guus Hiddink's team plays its first match against Spain on June 10 in Innsbruck, against Greece on June 14 in Salzburg, and against Sweden again in Innsbruck on June 18.
At least they didn't have to face Germany here :)
Let's watch, cheer, and believe in victory!!!:smile49:
(March 11, 2008).
Hooray! Although, whether there will be enough room for everyone in the top three is the question:smile42:
FC Zenit reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup!!!
The victory wasn't easy, as Zenit lost to the French team Marseille away with a score of 3:2..., but at home...:) - you should see what they did!!!
In their home stadium, they managed to achieve a victory with a score of 2:0, making the total score for both teams equal to 3, but only our team scored a goal in the opponent's field!!! - which allowed them to advance to the next round!
Congratulations to all residents of St. Petersburg, and not only them, but also to Russia, as FC Zenit is the only club remaining to represent Russia in the UEFA Cup!!! Zenit is a worthy team!
P.S. It's a pity they didn't score a third goal at the end... :)
On Friday, March 14th, the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the UEFA Cup took place at the headquarters of the European football union in Nyon. The draw was held.
The quarter-final matches of the UEFA Cup will be held on April 3rd and 10th, the semi-finals will take place on April 24th and May 1st, and the final will be on May 14th in Manchester.
"Bayer" - "Zenit"
"Rangers" - "Sporting"
"Bayern" - "Getafe"
"Fiorentina" - PSV
If they succeed in the quarter-finals, "Zenit" will face the winner of the "Bayern" - "Getafe" pairing.
That's the news :) We still have a chance to meet "Bayern" :) The main thing is not to miss it ;) I would gladly go to the "Zenit" - "Bayern" match :) It's a pity that I don't live in St. Petersburg!
Not only that, but "Krylya Sovetov," which was on the verge of relegation from the Premier League all last season, is crushing Terek away with a score of 0-3!
CSKA can't manage to win at home against Shinnik (which hardly anyone considered a competitor to last year's bronze medalist) - 1-1, and Amkar is dominating Khimki away: 0-3! And that's despite the fact that Khimki stayed in the top ten all last season solely thanks to their home matches: they had only two defeats at home all season (and those were against Lokomotiv and Moscow, very strong teams at the time, while Amkar finished only eighth last season)! However, this year, Khimki has a new stadium, and perhaps it feels like an "away" stadium for the home team.
Let's move on.
Lokomotiv loses at home (!) to Rubin with a score of 0-1. To whom? Yes, to Rubin - tenth place last year, an outsider from Kazan!
Zenit and Spartak couldn't break the deadlock in St. Petersburg, although overall it was a fairly entertaining match - unfortunately, not in the best sense of the word: both the blue-white-blue team (especially Pogrebnyak) and the red-white team (Mozart and Stranzl were begging for a red card) played very aggressively. And "Petrovich" is a place that is almost as "cursed" for guests as Khimki was last year. However, let's attribute this to Zenit's fatigue after their victory over Marseille, on the one hand... Or maybe the guys just weren't in the right mindset.
What can I say - yes, it seems that the priorities have changed significantly in the new season. Although the first round is often not the best indicator of trends. We will eagerly wait to see which games will reveal the favorites and outsiders of 2008.
And in parentheses - about the Tom-Dynamo match. The draw was quite predictable, given the classic situation - "a stronger team playing away against a weaker team." What's interesting is that at the time of the match, the temperature in Tomsk was 15-18 degrees Celsius (!!!) below zero! God bless Dynamo!:smile41: How they didn't die there is a mystery to me... and in general, it's the height of idiocy to hold a match in such weather conditions.
