That's true, and the vortex cannon is only effective at range 3. That's why I'm saying you need to hold out until tier 2, because that's when you get access to assault squads. I'm curious to know the most effective counter-strategy against Necrons using mass heavy bolters.

Read this: the enemy has just started developing in Tier 2 (upgrading, basically), and you already have a full squad of Great Knights + Chaplain. That's it! You've gained dominance over the battlefield, albeit briefly, but you have. Locken, did I understand the essence of the strategy correctly?
