Although, of course, this is just my opinion, but if all sources give them this genre, why argue? Almost every band has songs of "different genres," but that doesn't mean we characterize the band with just one genre; we give them the one they use less often...
In general, I don't like Linkin Park; they shout a lot, and there aren't many good melodies. I listened to Numb and What I've Done for a while, but I got tired of them pretty quickly.

I mean that the style of music is called "Nu Metal". Some songs, especially the newer ones, don't really fit into that category. But almost all of the older ones do.
And as for Linkin Park, they are one of my favorite bands. I remember listening to them all the time when I was a kid. And I didn't really like their new album either. Only two songs are decent: Bleed It Out and Given Up.

My favorite band... LP rocks. I like everything they have, my favorite songs are Faint, What I've Done, In the End, Papercut, By Myself, My December, and many more...

It's not an alternative at all. It has a distinctive musical style, distinctive drums, etc. There's nothing like that in Lords of Pomera.
