I've been stuck on this mission for a week now. I started playing, captured a Castle from Fedei, and divided the army between him and a hired hero. The next day, a message appeared, along with 2 tasks: strengthen the city and free the heroes. Since the losses during the castle capture were significant, I decided to replay. This time, everything went smoothly: there were almost no losses. I sailed to another island, conquered another Sylvan, but during all this time, Violet attacked me only 2 times. This confused me. I checked the tasks, and I only have 3! There's no mention of strengthening the city or the 2 heroes. I replayed 4 times, but neither the message nor the new tasks appear again: confused:
The game is a licensed version, version 1.6, warrior difficulty.

Thank you all for the information. After reading the advice, I completed this mission in 15 minutes. Perhaps I found a method that no one mentioned. My game is not a licensed version, and the version is 1.0, as I understand. The sequence is as follows:
The mercenary stays in the city, Fedya recaptures the second elven city, and together they form the necessary quorum in the capital, and Fedya goes to free the prisoners: first, the one on top, then the one underground. The first freed hero was not used in any way; he stood where he was rescued, and therefore did not gain any experience. I didn't touch the necropolis city; I went straight underground. After freeing the second hero, that's it, the end. Thank you for rekindling my interest! I was about to delete the game...

Shustryj AK, maybe you shouldn't have rushed so much? After all, you need not only to complete the mission, but also to level up Faelan as much as possible. He still has to complete the difficult 5th mission and fight the Demon Lord in the 6th campaign.

In this mission, I encountered a bug with the task of rescuing the elven heroes. The game wouldn't register the completion of the task, and the checkmark wouldn't appear. Then I realized that I should try to rescue Dirael specifically with Talanar, and not with any other hero.

I freed both heroes using Faidaen. There were no glitches. First, I captured the Necropolis castle, then I freed the hero in the Dungeon (because it was closer to reach from the Necropolis castle), and finally, I freed the hero on the surface.

I played version 1.5.

I don't know what the problem is. I did play it in version 1.0, but with a licensed copy. There were no glitches. The sequence is as follows: we capture the first castle (I don't remember about the losses, but I remember that it was practically without them). Then we buy a second hero and leave him with ents (so that they don't slow things down) in the castle. The rest of the troops are bought as they grow, but, as far as I remember, only ents are enough for defense (it needs to be checked). We sail with Fedor to the mainland (the big island?), capture the castle (elven), then release the land hero, then capture the necropolis castle, and release the dungeon hero. Next, we max out Fedor on chests and monsters and buy an army in the starting city. That's it - the scenario is completed. It took about three weeks in total. This is off the top of my head, I don't remember exactly, maybe it's less (or maybe a little more), but I managed it with only the starting army, so it's definitely possible to do it even faster. I didn't level up the released heroes at all, but I maxed out Fedor.
P.S. Difficulty - the second to last. I haven't tried it on the hero difficulty.

it freed everyone, defeated everyone, but the checkboxes indicating that the garrison is prepared, that the heroes are freed, and that I defended Cyris-Tallu are not checked. The game is a licensed version; maybe I need to complete it within a certain timeframe? I deleted extra heroes and tried hiring new ones, but nothing changes, and no one even attacks (purple).

lapka, you simply bought more troops 1-2 weeks ago, and the number of troops in the garrison increased, which means it is now better prepared.

The "Prepare the Garrison" quest was completed for me after a certain number of dragons were gathered in the first castle. I don't remember how many were needed. I even reloaded the game because I didn't want to finish the mission too quickly.

Well, maybe you just need to buy some troops in the first castle.

it shouldn't be legions standing there, but a specific number indicated in the task.

My purple creature refuses to attack the capital – it simply won’t, it appears from the portal but doesn’t go to the castle. If a weak hero comes out, it will try to attack, but as soon as it approaches, the purple creature hides in the castle and returns to its portal. Then another one comes out of the portal and just stands there as well. Of course, without successfully storming the castle, I can’t get the quests to reinforce the garrison or free someone. And I don’t even see the point in continuing the game – I’ve started it several times, but it’s no use; they won’t attack – they’re probably afraid.
