Finally, I made progress. I came up with such a trick that I was even surprised myself. In short, I go to the ghost, receive a quest, go to kill the assassins, come back to the ghost, and the game shows an infinite hourglass, while at the same time, the troops in the castles and with the hero can be viewed, but everything else is loading. I tried to send the assassins to the demoness, but alas, the same thing happens. After restarting the game six times, I gave up on the ghost, broke through the gates, and went to the Castle (successfully defeated it, filled it with corpses). Unfortunately, I didn't get to use the portals, which is a pity, I was counting on getting the "Supreme Artifact" from the Dryads. Has anyone else experienced this?
By the way, in this last mission, Arantir developed to the level of Ornella, although I was leveling her up in all the previous missions.

I don't know, maybe I'm the only one, but I can't complete this accursed mission – The Will of Askh.
I've already tried different approaches:
1. I didn't kill the assassins; instead, I sent them to the demonesses. I placed 4 heroes in the circles of chaos – nothing happened. =(
2. I killed the assassins, placed 4 heroes in the circles of chaos, and had an additional hero run to the spirit – it didn't open; I also had all of them run to the spirit one by one, changing their positions – nothing happens.
3. I killed the assassins, entered the portal with the trees, gained a few levels, and placed 4 heroes in the circles of chaos – and still nothing happens.
4. I even captured the gold mines in the last portal – still nothing. =(

All that's left is to reinstall the game. =)

Which heroes do you send to the Circles of Chaos? You mentioned using an extra hero to reach the Spirit, so you should send Ornella and three more Necromancers to the Circles, who can be hired at the tavern. Personally, I sent the Assassins to the Demoness, and I had no problems with the Circles. Try it, good luck!

Don't worry about me, maybe someone else will come and give me some advice, and I've already replayed this mission three times, it's a shame that it's been unsuccessful :(
But on the third try, the hero had 43 liches by the second week :D

I've only bought two heroes so far - I don't have enough money. I think buying a 3rd one is never too late.
